Summary: Could have been better...
Review: The story had a lot of potential but the ending for the lead characters' lives in the past left me very unsatisfied. It also irritated me that the hero thought and acted like an idiot sometimes. I like Jane Goodger's books but I like this least among those I've read. I'm getting rid of my copy.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Actually 4 1/2 stars
Review: This book was almost a 5 star, until the end. I did wish the story could have continued so I'd know what happened, but I can use my imagination for that. If you like to be surprised at the end of a book, don't read the first review. I read the review before I finished the book and it almost ruined it for me. Reviews shouldn't give the end of the story away.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Thus far, my favorite of Jane Goodger's books
Review: This is definitely my favorite Goodger book. I think it is the best written and ties up the lives the most neatly. I enjoy the mixture of contemporary sensibilities and historical time travel. There are many reflections by the main character Claire Dumont that made me laugh. The dialogue felt real. Though the hero was flawed and his character less well-drawn, Goodger provided plenty historical context to explain what directed his behavior. A fun quick read. I hope that Goodger continues writing many in the same vein.
