Review: According to all the rumors, Sophie Delaney slept around and that was the reason Reed Hardisty asked her out. The rumors were wrong. Certainly, she gave in to Reed easily enough on their third date. But she also said that she loved him. She also said she'd never regret what they had done. It was a statment they both would think about over the following seventeen years.

Donovan hadn't protected his little sister Sophie from their father's flying fists, she would have been the one dead on the floor. When Hutch Delaney realized his sixteen year old daughter would not have an abortion, but planned to have her baby, he intended his fists to force a miscarriage. A moment's decision to protect his little sister changed both of their lives forever. Donovan insisted on taking the blame and serving the jail time for their father's death. He also insisted that Sophie take the money provided by Reed's father to start a new life for herself and the baby somewhere else.

Sophie's Scandal by Penny Richards is an extraoridinarly insightful account of lost love and hidden secrets. With a deft pen, Richards creates memorable characters and a strong plot line. In addition, Richards creates a wonderful cast of secondary characters that we will see more of. Highly recommended.
