Rating: Summary: A fun read. Review: Chocoholics will enjoy the heroine and love the hero, who just happens to appreciate the few extra inches that chocolate has added to her. This is the first of Kit Garland's books that I've read and it won't be the last. My only complaint is that the front cover should have advised purchasing a box of chocolates beforehand -- the perfect accompaniment whilst reading The Perfect Scandal!
Rating: Summary: A tedious and unsatisfactory read. Review: Ms. Garland seems to have limited talent. All her books read the same--ridiculous plots, implausible situations, and cliched sexual tension. In fact, all her heros and heroines seem to do is pant and paw each other, in between pauses in her thinly thread plot, that is. And the devices she uses to emotionally and sexually keep them apart during the story . . . ! Definitely a strain on believability. I will NOT be reading another Kit Garland book. With authors like her, no wonder the romance genre is in trouble. (Sorry I couldn't be more positive. I really love romance, my favorite authors being Christina Skye and Julie Garwood.)
Rating: Summary: Totally Wonderful! Review: Take a feitsy, reckless, plump chocaholic lady and a tortured, honourable scoundrel, mix in a healthy dose of humour and intrigue and you'll get The Perfect Scandal. This is the first Kit Garland I've read and what an impressive read it is! One of the things I enjoyed about this story is the fact that the heroine is tad overweight but to the hero, she is nothing short of tantalising. I like Savannah, she is most of times confident of her self-worth and know how to get what she wants. And our hero Dominic is a delight. Wanting to do the honourable thing to her yet being oh-so-tempted by Savannah, he is a true gentleman to behold. I cannot rave enough about the characterisation, the humour, the romance... do yourself a favor and get a copy now!
