Summary: Absolutely Brilliant!!
Review: I loved this book, and could not put it down. I had to finish reading it, to see what turn the story would take next. The descriptive passages were so well written that I felt like I was really there taking part in the action. The author's descriptions were never long and preachy, just very interesting. This is a most marvelous first book by L Glass, and I look forward to more writing by this author.

Summary: Great Adventure
Review: This book had me living with the characters - they jumped off the page at me, and tugged at my heartstrings. I was pulled into the story and didn't want it to end as I felt I had lived the great adventure with Fanny and her family. I was also drawn in to a timeline I really knew very little about. Set before the Civil War, it was interesting to consider how life would have been just leading up to that great moment in our nation's history. This story was emotional, funny, sad, and touching. I couldn't get the characters out of my head, once I was done with the book. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Summary: What a fantastic journey!!!
Review: This book kept me mezmerized and on the edge of my chair like no other book has done. I still can not stop visualizing the characters and the settings in this book. I actually dreamed I was right there with the characters seeing all the activity and sensing all the emotions taking place. With the great descriptive writing, I know what each character looks like down to the last facial feature. This book was a fantastic journey well worth taking. Where is the next book? This journey must continue!! I would recommend this book to everyone!!

Summary: A stunning, lively book
Review: This book takes place in southeastern Missouri before the Civil War ravaged the area, and the lively heroine, Fanny, is not the fainting type. Her love for Josh takes her through many twists and turns, and the end is inevitable and satisfying. This book is rich in local color and the author takes us into her characters' interior lives, the world they lived in and the consequences they faced in lovely prose. This is a step back in time on the Mississippi River towns, you'll feel as if you had been there. Highly recommended!
