Summary: Synopsis
Review: Her bold, Fearless Renegade...

Her came to her by night, a savage warrior who knew that her prim suits hid silken lingerie and the heart of a rebel. Black Hawk was handsome, lethal , a kindred soul who burned with the same restless fever Elizabeth McCade had kep secret from all who knew her. With the dark knowledge of a sorcerer, the rugged Chickasaw leader bewitched her senses and made her promise to hide him from his enemies until his wounds had healed. But nothing could keep her safe from Hawk- he was her destiny, her obsession, her captive and her captor. He had claimed her , lassoed her body and spirit, branded her his, but he refused to let her share the danger that stalked him. Afraid of being enslaved by uncontrollable desire, Elizabeth fought Hawk's power over her.. and shattering memories too painful to forget. Hawk had his own shadows to face, but once he had, could he make this warrior's woman see that it was not enough to be a legend, that what hee wanted was to be a man... her man?

Summary: It Should Have Stayed a Secret!
Review: This must have been this author's first foray into the world of romance novels. Elizabeth McCade has returned home after a disastrous affair and miscarriage with her college professor. She has remained aloof and reclusive for seven years until Black Hawk is injured and accidently falls into a secret tunnel which leads to her cellar. After this, the book falls into stilted sentences and dialogue, and even less interaction between any and all characters except Elizabeth and Hawk. They traverse back and forth in the tunnel to see each other ("I had to come.") He speaks like a character in a B grade western. I was waiting for him to lapse into something along the lines of "Me, Hawk. You...my woman." And this was supposedly a contempory! This story had the potential to be much better. Instead, it only disappointed.
