Rating: Summary: Poignant Love Story Set in Japan Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book especially because of the very real emotions of the main characters as well as the Far East setting. The strength of the heroine is depicted totally right. No matter what happens, she will go on regardless of conflicts, no matter how difficult to overcome. I could only wish I had her beautiful strength. Her point of view and philosophy for living are inspiring. I still get goosebumps as I write these lines about this wonderful tale of love and sacrifice.
Rating: Summary: Tokyo Blues Shikata Ga Nai! (It can't be helped!) Review: Reading this book reminded me of the trials and tribulations in my own life. Given to me by my granddaughter, and being aware of our great gap in age and life experience, I was surprised that this love-story, or for that matter any love-story, could hold my interest to the degree it did. And what a love-story it is! Aside from its literary qualities-excellent character development, well-crafted dialogs, etc., the author's psychological insights made me feel as if I were a participant in the story itself. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt imprisoned by circumstances and yearned for release. A great tale!
Rating: Summary: A Different Kind Of Love Story Review: Tokyo Blues is a book of passion based in modern Japan. The reader is immediately drawn into this compelling story, which retained my interest to the very end. It is beautifully written and reveals the thought provoking motivational forces behind the actions of the main protagonist. The sexuality is blistering and the cultural components enlightening. Anyone who has ever been disappointed by life in spite of all good intentions, and who was fortunate to experience brief episodes of joy, will fully appreciate this tale. It's a wonderful read and I highly recommend it.
