Summary: Took my breath away-made me giddy from beginning to end!!!!
Review: When I first saw Be My Valentine and read the back of it I thought, "Hmmmm. How cute. Why not?" Little did I know that I would be embarking on one of the most wonderful novels I have ever read. I first thought that Shelby was an idiot for sticking with that moron of a boyfriend, and even considering marriage with him. But after the whole fiasco with David, I couldn't help but instantly fall in love with him. Every time he and Shelby would go out, and she'd be having mixed feelings about him, I just wanted to scream "Go for him! Go for him! You love him and he loves you, you comeplete idiot!!" When she finally told Matt that she wanted to break up, I wanted to jump for joy. The scene that completely took my breath away was when David dressed up as The Phantom of the Opera, and whisked her away to confess his love for her. If that isn't romance at it's finest, I don't know what is. My heart was pounding just reading it.
I was impressed by the Diana and Lance storyline, and found it funny that Diana was stressing about dating again at her age. And when Lance's playboy ways started to soften, my heart did too.
This book has not only provided me with wonderful and exhilirating entertainment, but made me believe that my own David Jones is out there somewhere, waiting to sweep me off my feet in the midst of a black cape and curly, brown hair. He may not be the huge hunk that Matt the jerk is, but he is a hero that any girl with a heart that needs to be loved and taken care of (and in her right mind) would die to have in her life. Whoever you are out there, I'll be waiting for you to come and find me. (Can you tell I'm a huge romantic?)
This is definitly one book I will read over and over again just to revisit Shelby and David's adventure from attraction to true soulmate love. If you are a hardcore romantic like me, buy this book! It will keep you up half the night with a smile on your face.
