Summary: It was absolutely wonderful!
Review: "What is a dream if not a soul's whispered secret?"

When Professor Alex Simon moved to Canyon, Texas from England, he welcomed the opportunity to change his locale. Not only would he be aiding his recently widowed sister, but he would have a chance to forget a failed relationship. One in which his fiancée had tried to change him. He knew he was not dashing, but he wasn't the dullest knife in the drawer. Perhaps he might be a bit set in his ways . . . Maybe he could use a little more excitement. He gets more than he bargained for when he encounters his attractive next door neighbor. He could do without her prickly nature, and that little dog too. Until he found an alternative, he would have to settle for the vicarious adventures in the western novels he'd recently discovered.

Robin Wise is less than impressed by her new neighbor-- and his little devil-cat. The feline taunts her dog, and its stuffy owner has the gall to blame her pup for the squabbles. At a second glance, Alex isn't quite as nerdy as he seems. As a matter of fact, when he isn't insulting her dog, he can be quite charming. She didn't need charming. She has her own problems. Such as the inherited curse looming over her impending thirtieth birthday. Until Robin can overcome the hex, she can't indulge in any fantasy she might have regarding the more-perfect-by-the-minute professor. No matter how she wishes she had the courage to act on the awakened desire in her heart.

By day Robin and Alex fight their feelings of attraction. By night, however, their souls have another way of dealing with one another. For you see, when they meet in their dreams, the wishes they make in their hearts really do come true....

This story evokes images akin to the Cary Grant movies of old! The premise is original, and the paranormal plot is well blended with passion, humor, and rich characterization. Guaranteed to keep a reader turning pages long past bedtime!

Summary: Dreams Are Funny Things!
Review: Dreams can be funny things. Sometimes they are virtual nightmares and other times they are wondrous things that are simply magical in all its magnificence. ONCE UPON A DREAM has all this and more.

The curse spanning generations through Robin Wise's family has left Robin agoraphobic, while Alex Simon's lack of trust towards women leaves him lonely and desolate inside. By day they quarrel constantly and by night they dream a heated passion between them, sending them to places unknown. While their love flourishes, they battle long-dead evils trying to change what was, to something better.

Ms. Archer's novel of dreams and discovering the joys of love and happiness is a not-to-be-missed book! I anxiously await her next book!

Romance At Its Best -

Summary: Witty, wonderful, spellbinding story
Review: Robin Wise is trying to make sense of the past. It seems the females of her family do not live much past their 30th birthday, and hers is in two weeks. More to the point, she'd love to meet the man of her dreams before she meets her maker. The problem is he seems to be just that - a dream. In her dreams is man, a gambler and something of a rogue, but she can't forget his eyes or his touch.

Alex Simon can't seem to please a woman, or so he's been told time and again, so he decides that swearing off women is the smart thing to do. However, in his dreams is a woman who fulfills all of his desires. And yet, in the light of day, he can't help noticing the woman next door stirs up her own brand of excitement in him. By night they're lovers, by day they're strangers. Their souls know the truth, but will their eyes and hearts recognize that love is where you find it. And no matter what you must learn to believe, love is meant sometimes to last an eternity. This author is bound to make everyone's wishes come true with this witty, wonderful, spellbinding story. Ms. Archer aims for the heart and doesn't miss.

Summary: An unusual but fascinating paranormal romance
Review: Visiting British professor Alex Simon feels "miserably inadequate" when it comes to women. Even his ex-fiancée gave up on the pathetic Alex. He has written off the fair sex so why is he spending so much time observing his beautiful neighbor Robin Wise exercise and asking radio host Dr. Dave for advice over the air waves?

Robin Wise also calls Dr. Dave telling him about her greatest fear that she will die just before her thirtieth birthday. Robin explains the "accidents" that happened to the four previous generations of her female ancestors including her mother. She turns thirty in two weeks.

Robin and Alex begin to share identical dreams (Freud would have a field night with that relationship). Not long afterward Robin's "surrogate" mother invites Alex to dinner where he and Robin finally meet. They begin to fall in love with one another from the start, but Robin knows that the curse prohibits her from giving herself to any man, let alone her beloved professor, because long-term relationships are out of the question.

ONCE UPON A DREAM is an amusing, witty, and entertaining paranormal romance that will provide vast pleasure to sub-genre fans as well as lovers of contemporary tales. The story line is fun whether it occurs in the mundane realm or the subconscious dream world. The lead couple is a deserving duo who readers will hope attain lasting happiness while the secondary cast cements the tale with humor and depth. Jennifer Archer hits a bulls-eye with this sensational story.

Summary: A Great Read
Review: You know you've read a good romance when you finish the last line and let out a big sigh. That is exactly what I did when I finished this book. While the situation is far fetched, the characters and dialogue were totally believable. Hero and heroine were very likable and the situations engaging. A great and satisfying read.
