Review: Kailen James had no idea what was happening to her. A few years ago she began having nightmares and seizures. Her biological parents had died when Kailen was little, so there was no one to tell her that what she was going through was all normal. It was her "true nature". An email informed her to "Find Mona", so she moved to New Orleans. If Mona, whoever she was, could cure her, then Mona would succeed where her foster parents and all the psych doctors could not.

Marc Foteneau's task was to find Kailen and deliver her to Mona, the one person who could help the young lady over come her "fits" and realize that she was more than human. Some went insane when they found out the truth of who and what they really were. Marc kept the truth from Kailen, knowing she would never believe him anyway. But as they traveled, the attraction between them grew. Even if Kailen lived, there were others of their kind nearby. Those others would wish to tear them apart.

***** This paranormal romance will leave its readers breathless. The reader will see everything happen, mostly, through Kailen's eyes. Therefore, the truth of Kailen's existence is revealed slowly and entices the reader's curiosity. Do not think that this means the story moves slowly, you would be wrong. The author keeps everything flowing at a smooth pace. Once the truth becomes clear everything moves almost TOO swiftly. The reader will be unable to break away from the story. Very addictive stuff here! Recommended reading! *****

Summary: Paranormal romance combined with rip-roaring adventure
Review: Kailen James, orphaned early and brought up by foster parents, lives happily in their Appalachian village until mysterious headaches and seizures take over her life. After years of psychiatric wards, drugs, and every other treatment imaginable, she flees to New Orleans in hope of carrying out the one suggestion a long Internet search unearths that makes any sense. Find Mona, the post urges, after telling her about a woman able to treat ailments that traditional medicine finds hopeless.

In New Orleans Kailen finds a job and friends, and begins making a new life in a place that she loves. But the seizures only grow more terrifying. When she meets a stranger who says he can help her find Mona, she fears trusting him; but by now she fears her mysterious illness more. So she goes with Marc Foteneau, on a journey deep into the unknown.

Kailen's "true nature" surprised me as much as it did her, despite the story's logical flow in that direction. Like Kailen, I thought then that I knew what she was all about - but we both quickly found out otherwise! The tale had a lot more twists and turns in store, for Kailen and for me. If you're a lover of paranormal romance combined with rip-roaring adventure, you'll find True Nature a thoroughly engaging read.
