Summary: Save your hard earned money
Review: I can only be described as a voracious reader, and romances are my most common fare. Regardless of the quality of writing I usually read them (for the first time) in a matter of hours. I couldn't get past the first couple chapters of this book, even though I tried several times (I thought I should finish it if I was going to review it, you see.) The repeated phrases and the way the character would think and mull for three pages bored me to tears. I thought I'd scream if I saw the words "karmically predetermined" one more time. I've never read one of Sara Blayne's books before, and I haven't completely written her off as an author (no pun intended). Next time, though, I'll borrow it or check it out of the library first.

Summary: A Wall-banger - don't waste your money
Review: I've loved some of her books - but this was not one of them. I
couldn't work my way through it - boring & dumb.

Summary: Not up to snuff
Review: Is this the same Sara Blayne that gave us Enticed, His Scandolous Duchess, and Passion's Lady? It can't be. If this was an attempt to infuse her books with humor, I wish she would abandon it on her next try. It took me five tries to get beyond the first 5 pages, and I usually read a Blayne in one sitting. After nearly two weeks of starting and stopping and reading everything else at hand to avoid this book, I finally gave in and made a beginning. I managed to get through 2/3 of the book in the course of an entire weekend, but have not been driven to pick it up and finish it yet. I found the book passable where the writing focused on characters other than the heroine's ridiculous prattling about karmic destiny and sun signs. Blayne seems to have even lost her ear for Regency dialogue - how else can one explain her dependence on "egad!" and "the Devil"? Those two terms appeared at least once on every page, whether the characters were speaking aloud or thinking. I used to buy a Sara Blayne w/out reading the blurb. Regretably, I will now scan the first chapter of future publications before I "waste the ready" on this author again.
