Summary: Great Read! Funny, Wonderful Characters
Review: Amanda Scott has done it again. A great story. The hero's too-kind Aunt Marjory is hysterical. Everyone knows someone just like her. The plot is clever, and the author's ability to carry the reader right into late 16th century Scotland is truly amazing. I don't know what book that first reviewer read, but it can't have been this one. If you're looking for a page-turner, this is it!

Summary: This book is for history buffs
Review: Amanda Scott is legendary in her storytelling of life on the Scottish/English borders in the reign of Queen Elizabeth. If you love history, and want to learn it through real historical characters brought to life, this book is for you. However, if you thought you were going to read a romance, this is not a book that will satisfy that urge. The hero and heroine do not even talk to each other until page 102. In fact, due to the large amount of goings-on as related to the actual history, the romance of the two main characters does not even begin to develop until the book is almost at its end. In fact, at the last page of the book, they have finally figured out that they should be together, and then finally they start to make love, and the book ends. I like realistic novels that stay true to history, but I also like a nicely developed romance, which is what I thought this book would contain. I give this book 3 stars because although Amanda Scott does her research and loves history, I was completely let down with the lack of romance of a couple working through a relationship.

Summary: DULL, BORING, REPETITIOUS, NO ROMANCE
Review: This really one of the worse books I have ever read. There is absolutely no repore' between Sir Hugh and Laura. They don't communicate, don't interact, nothing. The remainder of the story is repetitiously redundant and boring, boring. No plot to speak of.
