Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: I also didn't like David Waite at the beginning of the book. He seemed pompous and self-righteous, but as the story continues, we discover that he's been badly hurt before and has a "trust" issue that he feels very strongly about. Nora Armstrong, on the other hand, is innocent, but not naive and is instantly likeable. When Nora's cousin, Harlan, asks her to be an escort for a client, she very reluctantly agrees. The interaction between the two characters upon meeting is believable and not overly done. Their attraction grows as the story progresses and they become involved. The love scenes are explicit, but not lewd--the language is very modern. The trust issue is the cause of their breakup and the way he makes up with her is endearing. What a romantic guy!
Rating: Summary: An Outstanding Book! Hot, sexy, fun, and innovative. Review: I could hardly put this book down! Patricia Ryan has written a stellar example of what a Temptation book should be. Excellent, unique hero and heroine, incredibly hot *real* love scenes, fabulous full-fleshed secondary characters (I just adored Harlan and Kevin!) and a fast paced, often humorous plot. This is one of the best books I've read in a LONG time. If you're timid, forget it, but if you love a racy book that pushes the boundaries and deliveries a complex, well defined plot and a very satisfying ending, grab All Of Me right now! You won't regret it. I promise.
Rating: Summary: Likeable characters, unique story line... Review: If I could, I would rate this book 3 1/2 stars. This was my first Patricia Ryan book and it won't be my last. I felt the author did a good job with writing a very unique story, about likeable characters. The reason I didn't rate this book higher was the fact I couldn't understand what would prompt David(a grown man in his 30's) to want to have a supposedly platonic relationship with Nora, but yet get them both so worked up without consumation? I felt the author did a fantastic job of writing very sensual scenes. I enjoyed the anticipation and build up, yet I couldn't understand where David was coming from? Supposedly he didn't want a serious relationship and I could understand him respecting Nora's belief that lovemaking should be special and should be with the one you love. But why would a grown man want to be in a relationship with a woman that he liked and desired, yet only tease her and himself to the point of driving each other crazy. At one point the author made reference to being in high school and the petting and teasing that tends to go on, but this wasn't a high school 17 year old this was a 30 something year old man? I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE AN EXPERIENCED MAN WOULD WANT TO GO BACK TO ACTING LIKE A TEENAGER? This is my only complaint. If you can accept that concept, then you will be in for a treat. This story is funny, sweet and very sexy. I liked it,but I didn't love it.
Rating: Summary: MAKING THIS BOOK REQUIRED READING FOR MY FUTURE PARTNER! Review: In the beginning I thought I was going to dislike the male leadin this story. He seemed cold, stiff and though gorgeous, he was quitestereotypically British. However as the book progressed, he displayed the truth in the old adage "you can't tell a book(person) by it's(his/her) cover".While reading this book, my fingers were almost burned by the flames coming from the pages. I had the most visceral reaction reading a book from this genre - althought make no mistake, the book was in NO WAY trashy ... just everything I'VE ever wanted from or with a lover!...This book was so great that I expect my dreams the next few weeks to be quite vivid! Can't wait for the next opportunity to read similiar books from PATRICIA RYAN. END
Rating: Summary: enjoyable contemporary romance Review: Nora Armstrong leaves Keniston, Ohio for the Big Apple. Her cousin Harlan runs a successful enterprise there that caters to the needs of the wealthy for pretty companions during "events." On her first night in New York, Harlan asks Nora to be "arm candy" to David Waite, head of the Waite Consulting Group. David goes this route because he is tired of shallow women after him for what he can do for them. She wants to say no to the idea that she is just a beautiful ornament attached to someone's arm. However, her cousin forces her to agree by placing her on the phone with the client. Nora figures David must be a shallow person to turn to a paid escort. He thinks she must be a dumb model willing to sell to the highest bidder. Nora and David are instantly attracted and soon fall in love. However, a relationship that starts from an untruth will more than likely crumble into nothingness. ALL OF ME is an enjoyable contemporary romance set to the backdrop of Manhattan's rich and famous. Readers will enjoy the simplistic story line that centers on trust being a critical element for lasting relationships. David is suave English who owns the city. Nora is Midwest suburb who feels overwhelmed by the city. Her cousin and his gay boy friend add a youthful feel to the overall novel. Patricia Ryan provides her audience with a jewel of a tale. Rating: Summary: Fantastic and Unique Review: This story wowed me. It was fantastic. I could not put it down. At first I thought I wouldn't like it because I figured the heroine would turn out to be a weak-willed woman who would give it up on the first date by getting swept away by her feelings; which I hate. Boy was I wrong! It was not that way at all. She was strong-willed and stood by her beliefs and convictions. Likewise, I fell for the hero. He'd been hurt in the past by several women (because he chose poorly) and was therefore understandly unwilling to let himself love. But because the story was so well written, you could tell that he still wanted someone who loved him for himself. He was eventually able to give into his overwhelming feelings. Of course, when he felt he'd been fooled/betrayed he regressed and went back to his earlier feelings regarding relationships (but of course he was simply trying to protect himself from more pain). I really liked him. He was real and whew was he HOT. And, oh my lord, the love scenes were SCORCHING! One of my favorite scenes is when David (the hero) calls Harlan (the heroine's cousin) and gets told off (rightfully so)! (read the book, you'll see why). Harlan was so right on with everything he told him and it was so funny! This was a really entertaining read. Well worth it. It was different and so entertaining and interesting. Now I'm looking for any other stories she may have written.
