Rating: Summary: Morning Beauty, Midnight Beast Review: A dark suspense about dark and lonely life on the Chicago streets. Two main characters, Molly running from an abusive relationship and Seth dealing with his own demons. Storyline brings these two together one dark night when Molly goes into labor and Seth rescues her and takes her to the hospital.
Seth's character is strong.....he is and was the caretaker of his sister Shannon who has also led an incredibly "dark" life on the streets.
MacKenzie brings all of these characters together and somehow all end up with happily everafter which at one moment in the book I doubted would happen.
I liked the book and would recommend it to those who read romance/suspense.
A different read from the other MacKenzie books I have purchased i.e. Billionaire Bachelor Auction, etc.
Rating: Summary: Good book! Review: I've been looking for a good book for a while, and I finally found one!
On a wintry night on the Chicago streets, Molly Delavan unexpectedly went into labor and was rescued by a mysterious Good Samaritan who vanished before she could thank him. On the run from her greedy ex-fiancé, Molly wanted to start living her own life, on her own terms. But she owed her rescuer, Seth McCabe, a debt of gratitude. One that she was determined to repay.
Seth walked the city alone at night, a reporter who jealously guarded his privacy. He'd seen enough of what love could do and wanted no part of it ever again. But Molly just might change all that. Vulnerable and in danger, the lovely young mother needed help, and Seth found himself drawn to her, despite his determination to avoid her. Molly brought sunlight into his darkness - but could a man who had lost everything hope to reclaim his heart?
Rating: Summary: Well, he's no Jesse Brown Wolf . . . Review: If you like the basic premise of this book (i.e., vulnerable young woman on the run from abusive ex-husband is rescued by mysterious stranger who walks the city streets at night, haunted by his past and being a good guy in spite of himself), go for the original: The Night Remembers, by Kathleen Eagle. In MBMB I was actually more touched by Seth's relationship with his sister than by his interactions with Molly. The brother-sister relationship wins this book its third star.
FYI: I have heard that Night Falls Like Silk, Eagle's sequel, is nowhere near as good as The Night Remembers. So if you read Night Falls Like Silk and disliked it, don't let it scare you off from The Night Remembers.
Rating: Summary: A Delightful Read!!! Review: Myrna MAcKenzie has writen a wonderfully romantic, delightfully poignant story with Morning Beauty, Midnight Beast.
On her way home, Molly slips and falls, going into early labor. Seth finds her and rushes her to the hospital. He can't help but continue to care and protect her. Molly for her part wants to repay him for his help. The two fight their attraction for each other because both are running from things in their past. Can they overcome their pasts to build a relationship? You will need to read the story to find out. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
