Rating: Summary: Not bad, if you can get past the silly stuff. Review: I gotta tell you, if I'd lost my job and was wondering what I'd do to pay the bills... well, dancing is not where I'd go.Actually, once you get past that (and it takes a while) the fantasy of the handsome, protective man was not at all bad. Snoe does draw an exotic world for us. But, I have to complain that whenever her plot grows thin, she results to magic. Deus ex machina? Give us a break!
Rating: Summary: Loved it!! Review: I liked this book. The fact that the action does not center around a major industrial city makes you know the characters more intimately. The characters were well written. They are not stick figures but real human beings with flaws. I recommend this book, not only for the plot but for the beautiful and colorful descriptions of the people and places.
Rating: Summary: Enchanting! Review: I was so entranced by 'Beguiled' that I decided that I just had to share it with everyone else. Unfortunately, the first person I lent it to loved it more than I did... she kept it! 'Beguiled' stands out within its genre because of its exotic location, its wonderfully drawn characters, (especially its secondary characters), its refreshing plot and its originality. As a West Indian, I can relate to the cultural and geographical details, which are superb, and its melding of the spiritual and the sensuous was breathtaking. It's well worth buying!
