Rating: Summary: Through it all... Review: Congratulations Ms Phillips. Great book!!!SOMETHING IN COMMON is undeniably a book for all of us that are still young at heart. I found myself racing along an avenue of missunderstandings, errant comments, and guilt; being cascaded off of walls of pain and deception, to finally land in a world of peace and twice found love. SOMETHING IN COMMON is a love story, so carefully and emotionally woven through the relationships between three sisters and their relationship with their mother, that at times, I felt the realness of the individual charactors and forgot it was fiction. Very well paced, very well done. I look forward to future works by Ms Phillips. In the mean time, I am re-reading SOMETHING IN COMMON. I am hooked!! (Will Robert and Helen pop up again in future novels? Hope so.)
Rating: Summary: Something In Common is a terrific book, fast reading. Review: Everyone can relate to the story. It reads fast chapter after chapter. The author's writing is unique just as the story is. It has a different twist from all the other romance books. While reading one can feel the pain, and the laughter. It also gives a message to not wait too late to make-up with family. Also, it shows what true love is between a man and a woman, feelings that are deep inside. I read it in two days and my friend said that it had her getting out of bed at two in the morning to finish. Once you pick it up, you can't put it down. There is someone in the book that everyone knows.

Rating: Summary: A Romance that touches the heart ! Review: This is a very touching and emotional driven story how one sister loses Something in Common with her two sisters ! The night Harriet overheard an argument between her mother and father changed the closeness in a relationship between her two sisters ! See why a mother gives all the atttention and love to one sister .Could it be the guiltiness she felt because of a mistake she made so long ago? This is also a romance story showing how one man marries the wrong sister and the deceit one sister does to get her sister's love ! Can the two find love and happiness after twenty years, each being married to someone else ? Can their love endure ? Sounds confusing it's not ! A Romance story that touches the heart with a family secret, and love losses !
Rating: Summary: O.K. Debut Novel but Needed Better Editing Review: This is the story about three sisters, two of whom are estranged from the third. One is an author, one is a school teacher and I couldn't quite figure out the occupation of the third sister. The story essentially revolves around the relationship between the sisters and the sisters relationship with others. Although I thought the story had potential, I felt the author approached the issues presented in the novel in a rather simplistic and pedantic manner. I would like to have seen more development of both the characters and the various storylines. In reading the novel, the characters were pretty one dimensional and all of the main characters seemed to focus upon was the presence and love of a man. Additionally, the poor editing detracted significantly from the novel.
