Summary: From the "Count on a Cop" series - Recommended
Review: As she leaves the Midland, Illinois library, Eleanor Perkins she should have paid attention to her instincts. She quickly finds herself victim to a man holding a gun. But he is no ordinary criminal. He warns her to not use the tricks taught in her self-defense class, because he knows them all. He should since he usually enforces the law, not breaks it.

On the lam, police officer Mike Reilly intends to stay alive long enough to prove the corruption within his department. His coworkers are equally determined to see him dead, even if it means taking down an innocent librarian. Their mutual danger soon has both Eleanor and Mike working together to prove the truth, forcing them to place their trust only in each other.

Author Margaret Watson pens a fast paced read in TWO ON THE RUN. While the cops chasing Eleanor and Mike seem strangely inept at times, and there are the obligatory Stolckhom Syndrome elements, the power of the writing and the excitement of the drama keep the blood pounding. Scintillating dialogue, sharp wit and surprising dashes of wry humor combine for a fun read. TWO ON THE RUN comes recommended.

Summary: A little too predictable for my likings..
Review: I liked the book, but it wasn't really an engaging read. The characters of Michael and Eleanor were formulaic. As you read, you can tell what's going to happen next. I personally don't like books where you can figure out the ending, so I had to give it a lower rating.

Summary: fun romantic suspense
Review: In Midland, Illinois as children's librarian Eleanor Perkins closes the facility she believes as usual she is the last in the parking lot. However, this time she is not alone as a man with a gun carjacks her vehicle and abducts Eleanor. The culprit who says his name is Michael makes one stop at an abandoned factory, but Eleanor who bravely perhaps stupidly mouths at him while she drives is too chicken to enter the building as she fears the dark.

Mike Reilly is a cop on the lam from his blue peers. He has proof of police corruption that he wants to give to the FBI if he lives long enough to do so. His only regret was bringing into his mess Ms. Librarian whose courage has hooked him. Though terrible at relationships, he has a reason to live, but will die to keep Eleanor safe from those chasing after him. Eleanor, who dreamed of adventure, finds this dangerous trek is more than she wished for as not just her life is at stake; her heart and soul is on the line with Michael.

Ignoring the Stockholm Syndrome and that the enemy seems pathetic versions of the Keystone Kops, police procedural romance readers will take immense delight in this on the lam tale. The story line moves at a brisk pace from the movement that electrifying Eleanor gets her first chuckle out of mysterious Michael until the final confrontation when she challenges him.
