Summary: Thanks for the Promise
Review: Passion's Promise was uplifting. I am from the Tampa area and was glad to see it as the setting for this book. The Bay Area was shown as an exciting and inviting area.
I am impressed with this writer's style, as her characters don't jump into bed from the beginning. There is a genuine relationship developed before intimacy. I have a teenager who likes to read romance novels and I am not hesitant in giving this one to her.
The characters are developed well and you can feel their passion growing for each other but also understand that they respect each other's body as well as careers. We all know someone who fit these descriptions.
This is the type of romance that all women dream of, a strong independent minded brother with a romantic side, good looks and the wealth don't hurt either. One can dream!!! Can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: just an okay book
Review: After reading all of the reviews, I went out and bought this book. Boy was I disappointed. At the end of the book, the reader still did not know who bought up all of the stock. It was nice that the 2 characters ended up happily married; however, I felt like the read was a waste of time.

Summary: A Realistic Believable Romance
Review: Despite Jet's being rich, powerful, handsome, and a football legend, Cara brings out this little
boy quality, making this icon of a man innocent, vunerable, and touchable. He is a man in love willing to do whatever it takes to keep Cara happy and in his life. Jet can't see that sometimes even with all his
effort, he still neglects her basic need for his love, trust, and support.

Cara is strong enough to recognize Jet's weaknesses and her own and
to overlook his faults. She's often overwhelmed by the strength and
passion of his love for her. I don't think she truly understands what she means to him goes beyond his company, family or himself.

They are a fun couple and their struggles and determination to overcome personally and professionally make them an endearing couple your readers will surely treasure.

Summary: Passion's Promise
Review: I felt the book was excellent!! I did not view the male character as a mama's boy; but loving, considerate, and sensitive to issues regarding his family and his new found love.
I can't wait for the next to follow!!

Summary: Enjoyable reading
Review: I love reading books about woman and men in professionl roles and Passion's Promise had all of the things I love. There was lots of surprise and a happy ending. Jet's mother and stepmother had a relationship that was special like on one would have thought possible between a ex-wife and a present wife. I'm waiting for the next book that will continue this love affair.

Summary: What Happens When You're Not Looking for Love
Review: In PASSION'S PROMISE by Christine Townsend, Clara St. John is not looking for love. So when she meets the man behind the company that may destroy the community in which she works, love is far from her mind. Inspite of the fact that she finds him handsome, her first inclination is to give him a good beat down. Jet Stevens, a former pro-football player who is now a real estate magnate, is used to having things his way. However, it's a horse of a different color when he meets the woman who is blocking his recent real estate deal and his potential to earn millions.

As the two adversaries realize that fighting is not going to accomplish anything, they decide to work together to broker a deal that will help the community. While they hammer out the details, their attraction to each other continues to build. With the community taken care of, they then negotiate another deal that will personally benefit the two of them. This deal, however, comes with circumstances neither could possibly have guessed would threaten their future happiness and possibly cause Jet to lose his company.

Christine Townsend has written an astonishing love story centered around a big business deal designed to bring luxury condominiums and millions of dollars to a bayfront area in Tampa, which at the same time will displace many people in a public housing project. Who would have thought that you could find love in community activism when all parties are against one another? The characters were fresh and genuine; I enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them. I applaud Ms. Townsend for her ability to evoke so many emotions in me as I read this novel, while at the same time teaching me about caring for my community. She shows that sometimes the motives behind business ventures in inner city communities aren't always in the best interest of the inhabitants, and that love can be found anywhere there are two willing candidates.

Summary: Passion's Promise
Review: Not looking for love brings a social worker/community organizer together with a former professional football player turned reals eastate tycoon in Christine Townsend, "Passion's Promise".

Here we have a strong-minded, tall beautiful women Cara St. John who is determined to see that a large real estate compnay owned by the handsome, built, tall, chocolate former professional football player playboy Jet Stevens from building a lavish condominiums in Tampa, Florida. All Cara see is displacing residents who can not afford or go anywhere else without looking at the whole picture. From their first meeting, Jet cannot resist looking at Cara. He is so mesmerized by her looks and body, but she brings him out of his trance with her outspoken, take-charge attitude. With a package like that, Jet wants to know her even more.

As the story moves along, Jef half brother Melvin has another way of running the family business. He feels he is unappreciated and looked upon as the flunky, not having business sense. But, to everyone's suprise Melvin has a plan of his own. Especially after he meets Cara, well known to others that she is seeing Jet. Throw in a jealous mother, who will do and say anything to keep her baby Jet to herself. How's that for a receipe of deceit.

Passion's Promise is an easy read. It had a few slow points, but in all I found myself laughing and crying at the same time. Not to give the ending away, seeing what a man like Jet will do to be with the women he loves makes me want to cry. But, I know this is just a story. Can't wait to read the continuing saga of Cara and Jet in Christine Townsend, Love On Hold, due to be released in February 2005.

Summary: ODIGGITY-DOG
Review: THE HERO WAS TOO MUCH OF A MAMA'S BOY. BELIEVING WHAT HIS MOTHER TELLS HIM AND GETTING UPSET WITHOUT FIRST CONFRONTING THE SO CALL WOMEN HE LOVES FIRST. THIS BOOK WAS MAKING ME SICK WITH ALL THE CLINGING HE WAS DOING AND DOING THINGS TO STAY WITH HER BUT NOT TRUSTING HER AND THEN TURNING AROUND TO TRUST HER AGAIN. I HEAR THERE IS A SEQUEL AND I WOULD NOT WASTE MY TIME ON THAT ONE EITHER. I WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED. I CAN'T STAND MAMA'S BOY WHO DO EVERYTHING THERE MOTHER TELLS THEM NO MATTER WHAT AND ALWAYS CHOOSING THEM OVER THE WOMEN THEY WANT AS THEIR WIFE.

Summary: Passion's Promise
Review: This book was a great read. Like Ms. Townsend's first novel, this was not a romance in the traditional sense, but it was romanctic. The characters were so realistic. Unlike most romances where the hero is superhuman, Ms. Townsend allowed readers to see the hero's vulnerabilities. The contrast between Jet as a titan in corporate American and the boyishness he displayed with the woman he loved was particularly touching. I also liked Cara's strength and determination in the face of their trials. Their chemistry was strong. I can't wait to read the sequel. I think I know who's buying up all the stock, but I want to know why.
