Rating: Summary: Another winner from Ms. Fairchild Review: At 24, Sarah finally gets her first season in London. Although she has had a marriage agreement with a neighbor since childhood, she finds herself with many suitors. She comes to care particularly for Ashley "Hawkes" Castleford, but it seems he only cares about her in a friendly way, while his cousin Stewart courts her more ardently. One of the hallmarks of this book is that the blind heroine is *not* a tortured, self-pitying soul who must be saved from herself. She is for the most part happy, having been without sight since childhood. The descriptions of how she senses people, and the scenes of friends and suitors helping her to "see" and reading to her are marvelous.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: What a delightful read. All the characters were so well written. You were drawn into their lives effortlessly. You felt the love, frustration, tension in everyone. You felt the love of family in the bonds between the three related men, Beauty (Stewart), Beast (Ashley) and his ward (Nate). It was fun to hear the story of where the men got the names from. And the romance...indescribable! Sarah was a truly remarkable woman. There is a secret ... revealed early in the book but not on the cover description which I won't divulge. A remarkable book that I will read over and over. Should be reprinted!
