Summary: I COULD NOT put it down
Review: I will try to make this brief. I am 14 years old and I fell madly in love with this book. Many novels I simply put down after 200 pages and never pick them up again. I read this novel endlessly (during spares in school) and still wish that I could be a part of the characters' lives again. I would just like to ask that if Ms. Karleen Koen herself read this...that she may pleeeeeease write another novel continuing after Now Face To Face. I fell so deeply in love or hate with the characters and I am still upset that it ended. I suppose I am addicted in a way. Unfortunately I haven't read Through A Glass Darkly yet but I will as soon as possible and I hope that the fact that I read the second one first won't hinder my involvement. Thank you very much. If anyone would like to contact me...Just e-mail me...I'd be happy to discuss the novel!

Summary: Loved It!
Review: Now Face to Face and it's predecessor Through a Glass Darkly have joined my collection of favorite historical fiction. Contrary to the other opinion that the political intrigue of the novel was hard to follow, I felt that, for the first time, I was truly able to understand this period of English upheaval. I was reading these novels for the "fiction" and not for the "romance" so I didn't notice if there was romance missing. I didn't feel there was anything missing, actually. The only thing missing is a third book! Ms. Koen, is it on it's way?

Summary: The First One is Better
Review: Once I finished reading "Through A Glass Darkly" I was most anxious to read the sequel to the captivating story of Kathleen Koen. But, as I finished through, what seemed like five chapters, I had to put it down. It seemed that all Barbara searched for was meaningless sex and compassion. I just had to put it down. Something in Barbara's attitude really put me off and, I am sorry to say this but, I could not finish the book. It seemed that everything went to the pits. Maybe others liked it, maybe others disliked it too but this is my opinion and I say it could have been better.

Summary: Don't Expect a Romance Novel
Review: There were some really nice things about this book. The language of the book was beautiful. The way the characters thoughts were conveyed was particularly good. The story made me cry at times. But I had picked it up remembering how infatuated I felt when I read through "A Glass Darkly" six years ago and hoping that this book would be just as romantic. I read through the first half of the book rather entertained by what was happening to Barbara in Virginia, and rather confused at what was happening to the people she knew back in England since it took me a while to figure out who was who. But all the while I was waiting for the romance to begin. It was only half way through that I finally realized this book wasn't intended to be a romance novel. When the romance in the story finally came along, it happened to quickly for my taste. At least by that time, I knew the characters well enough to enjoy the rest of the story.
