Summary: Promises
Review: Back Cover description: All the village assumed that Margo Pearson was to marry George, but unexpectedly meeting Professor Gijs van Kessel made her pause for thought. But being a plain, practical girl, Margo knew the professor was most unlikely to look her way. It took a tragic accident to bring an offer of marriage--from the professor. It was a practical proposal, but as Margo was taken into the bosom of his family over Christmas in Holland, she did wonder whether he might, someday, return her love...

This is one of the better Ms. Neels' stories. Margo is not a doormat, and the professor is not as stoic as some of the other male characters have been. The story moves along nicely and you do get a little teary towards the end.

Review: This is a great book, I couldn't put it down until I read the last page. Betty Neels is a wonderful writer not only with this book but all of her books.

Summary: Neels doesn't disappoint with this one.
Review: This was a wonderful read. As with most of Betty Neels books, I couldn't put it down. Of course you know the outcome, but the story is so sweet as you read along that you keep coming back for more. A very good quick read, and I highly recommend it.
