Review: Callen's books have been so wonderful that I pre ordered this one and waited most impatiently. Guess that's why the disappointment was so huge. 'Spy' is your average regency stuff.
Halfway through I contemplated tossing it but, although tedious, I managed to finish it. Just nothing special going on here. sorry, gc.

Summary: A Please New Story By A Very Talented Author!
Review: I have been a long time fan of Ms. Gallen and her latest effort is a remarkable read that offers a fun spy storyline, wonderful characters, and a truly wonderful romantic storyline. This is a story that allows both Nick and Charlotte a chance to see how others see themselves, as well as giving them a chance to grow indpendently. The storyline that brings them together is fast-paced and entertaining. The secondary character bring much to the story, and we get to briefly visit with Jane and Will yet again.

Ms. Gallen is a truly talented author and this is her second book in her spy series. I anxiously look forward to Sam and Julia's story which will be arriving in Spring of 2005. This book is a great place to escape to and Nick and Charlotte will steal into your heart.

Review: I was so excited when I heard that Ms. Callen had written a Victorian Era trilogy, and about spies! What more can you ask for? The Beauty and the Spy is packed full of romance, action, romance, intrigue, oh, and did I mention romance? This is a read that you can't put down. Lose yourself in the world of intrigue as you watch Charlotte and Nick lose themselves in each other. I can't wait for number three!!!! A must read for romance fans.

Review: In a world filled with so much sadness, Gayle Callen has yet again managed to bring another wonderful happy ending to the world. Beauty and the Spy gave me everything I was hoping for- adventure, romance and humor- the perfect escape from today's troubles.
I loved Charlotte and Nick and thought the chemistry between them was wonderful.
Great job, Gayle Callen!

Summary: CALLEN'S WORK IS PURE GENIUS
Review: This book is truly wonderful! I've loved this writers' historicals from way back when she was writing Medievals, and I still love them when she writes in the VICTORIAN era, like this book. Callen's characters act appropriate for the era. This book is lush and well-researched as usual. I can't wait for her next book!!

Summary: Inane Romance.. not recommended
Review: This is one romance not to pick up. Unfortunately Callen has quite a few books written and this is not one to recommend by the author. There is no chemisty between the heroine and hero and the whole spy drama is laughable.
This review maybe a bit harsh and if you read this story, you will understand why. The writing is too simple and not at all interesting. The reader will probably not get through the first few chapters.
Charlotte comes across as too whiny and a tad immature for a widow in her early twenties.
Nick has no dimension. Not much more you can say about that.

Review: This was a very good book - a lot of action, good plot and well developed characters. The attraction between Nick and Charlotte was very intense and you really hoped that this love between them would work out in the end. The book kept my interest throughout - I could not put it down!
