Rating: Summary: A GOOD READ Review: I enjoyed reading this book. I was impressed by the style of writing. Sheldon painted a clear picture of how women can still be sexy, sassy and business orientated. This is a page turner.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I read this book in one day. I love Sidney Sheldon.
Rating: Summary: A Good Read Review: I'm a died in the wool Sheldon fan. I've read all his books, a few more than once. I like his pacing, a master of the page-turner. And TSSD is no exception. What I missed in this book is narrative drive and some description. It's 90% dialog which after a while sets me off to skipping to get to the end. Like all his books, this one is filled with twists and turns and a rocket ride to the end. So, I'll keep on reading all his books, even if I'm disappointed once in a while.
Rating: Summary: Splendid Review: Lara Cameron wants everything, but it takes some ruinous circumstances to make her realize she has more than she needs.
By 20, Lara was a millionaire intent on conquering Chicago. A couple of years later, takes on New York, and the world.
From Nova Scotia to Chicago, New York to Amsterdam, The Stars Shine Down describes the life of a woman who knew what she wanted and was willing to pay the price to get it.
Lara Cameron comes off as a flawed, lovable, and tragic heroine; Paul Martin, as a vengeful lover; and Howard Keller, as the apotheosis of passion out of control.
Sheldon gives a stellar performance; this is a book to fall in love with.
Rating: Summary: Sidney Sheldon suceeds again Review: Sidney Sheldon I think is one of the best authors ever! I have written to him several time, and he has personally written me back. I read this book in days because I really got in to it. I young women starts a big building business. She becomes obsessed with it. When accidents start heppening, and affairs come in, she has to wonder, are they really accidents, and is really safe to have theses affairs?
Rating: Summary: Sidney Sheldon is consistent with this one--It's stupid! Review: Stars shine down...its like shimmering sparkling down with the twinkling shine...Sure Sid's book are all great but this one I felt has a theme of a beautiful Lara Cameron who is a self made billionaire whose character in the book revolves round fortune n fame. Interesting to read as Lara struggles to reign into male domain and portrays a ruthless character feeling insecure at times. She has busy appointments for the day and strive to achieve for more as she travels from London to New York and Reno to Rome and when her fortune dwindles, its the pages you never stop to read. At times the theme seems fine but bit too heavy with stepping in of Alder who offers Lara an exciting new dimensions at a price to pay that threatens to destroy them both. A nice book to read to kill time when you have lots to spare.
Rating: Summary: A Good Read Review: The iron butterfly, as the main character is nicknamed, is a brilliant charachter. She is smart and a cut throat business woman. The book is somewhat slow in the beginning but picks up after that and makes you want to continue reading until the end. Once again, Sheldon puts in the suprise ending. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Highly entertaining! Review: This is the usual Sheldon, meaning that it has a rocket-fast pace, an excellent story, and crisp writing. The opening gambit is similar to "Master of the Game," but this isn't the mini-masterpiece that MOTG was. If you want vivid descriptions and characterizations then look elsewhere. This book is simply entertainment, but it's a great read.
Rating: Summary: Queen of the World Review: This novel has a woman who thinks she is the "queen of the world." You make one mistake around her and you are history. She is obsessed with power and more power. Her life revolves around her company and how to make it grow. She has her talented pianist husband injured so he can spend more time with her. She consumes everyone around her and cannot figure out why people do not like her. Her husband knows about her intentions and yet he loves her for her devotion. Just like Sheldon's other novels, this one is hard to put down.
