Rating: Summary: A good read with a touch of the paranormal Review: Dr. Rita Brooks is a psychologist who has a few hang ups of her own. Her nose bleeds when she is confronted by strong forceful men. Something due to her relationship with her father. She lives in Boston. She meets a seemingly gentle, considerate, gentleman on-line.
Brian La Porta lives in New Orleans and runs a hotel. He has tried to convince Rita to come and meet him. As the story opens he catches someone in his house and follows them up to the roof where he is pushed off, he winds up in a coma. A day later Rita is run off the road and almost killed, she winds up in a coma. Although they have never met somehow they recognize each other in the grey place both have come to. Brian touches Rita and passes some memories to her.
Christopher LaPorta comes to Boston after finding an e-mail from Rita to Brian, everyone thinks Brian tried to commit suicide, Rita knows he was pushed. She doesn't know who did it and is reluctant to tell anyone about her experience. Rita refuses to talk to chris about the 4 days she was in a coma. HE tells her Brian has been in a coma for 6 weeks.
Finally realizing someone tried to kill her and knowing someone pushed Brian off the roof, Rita heads to New Orleans. Eventually Chris and Rita have to discover the secrets Brian has been keeping. As more of the memories she received from Brian surface, they realize there is a killer loose at Marti Gras.
Rating: Summary: strong paranormal romantic suspense Review: French Quarter hotel manager Brian LaPorte and Boston based psychiatrist Rita Brooks meet over the Internet when he showed interest in a dagger she was selling. They exchanged email and started to talk about meeting as the two were falling in love, but Rita delayed this because of her fears of intimate relationships. Not long afterward a car purposely crashes into Rita's vehicle; four days later she comes out of the coma.
Rita sends an email to Brian asking why he stopped communicating with her. Instead of a response, Brian's estranged brother Christopher arrives to learn what Rita's relationship was with his sibling, who apparently tried to kill himself by jumping off a ledge. Rita finds out that Brian is in a coma and believes he "visited" her when they both were comatose to warn her and to insist he was pushed. Rita goes to New Orleans with Mardi Gras just beginning to investigate Brian's fall. Christopher joins up with her although he thinks she is lying; neither expected to fall in love nor anticipate the danger from a seemingly safe source.
This paranormal romantic suspense is a strong tale that hooks readers with the opening confrontation in "Xanadu" until the final climax. Readers know who pushed Brian and the threat to Rita from the beginning but that just adds tension as the audience worries about the stubborn courageous heroine who has no allies even Christopher although she falls in love with him. Readers will appreciate this dark terse thriller.

Rating: Summary: I liked it Review: I liked this book over all even though toward the end of the book it got weird and more weird. I guess the love story and action makes up for the boring and unexciting ending.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Usually when I can figure out a story before the ending, that immediately drops it by at least a star. However, even that couldn't drop this one from a five-star rating.
Well written, fast paced and an excellent read. Don't miss it!
