Summary: My Baby, My Love
Review: Dani Sinclair returns to Fools Point in the series' second book, "My Baby, My Love." Sydney Edwards wakes up in the hospital following a bank robbery that killed her husband. She doesn't expect to see the brother-in-law she's never met by her bedside, or the unexpected news that she was pregnant. Why didn't her husband tell her their fertilization treatments were successful? If that wasn't enough of a surprise, several attempts are made on her life. Her brother-in-law, Major Noah Inglewood, vows to protect her. It soon becomes clear she'll need all the help she can get.

I enjoyed the first Fools Point book, "For His Daughter," but put off reading this one because of the nauseating title and what I thought was going to be an amnesia plot. I was downright grateful to find that it wasn't. Just when I was wondering when a romance heroine could have a head injury and not get amnesia, Sinclair offers this one. She gets a big thank you from this reader. How refreshing!

Fans of Sinclair's brand of romantic suspense should not be disappointed. The action moves quickly and clearly. The reader is pulled along from one heart-stopping incident to the next. The sexual tension is very high and the characters are likable. I can't judge the mystery, since I read book three, "The Silent Witness" before this one and had too much information going in. The book did seem very predictable, though, even with what I didn't know. I suspected the husband's secret from the start and was annoyed that it took Sydney so long to catch on. She may be excused for not guessing the eventual secret about her baby, though I still thought that was obvious, even without the help from the back cover copy. The pregnancy element was very forced. It seemed unnecessary, tacked on to add that much-needed plot hook. The whole thing felt like it could have been cut without changing the story too much, but then the editors wouldn't have been able to mention it on the cover.

I was ready to give "My Baby, My Love" four stars, since I gave "The Silent Witness" three and it is better than that one. Except that two hours after finishing it, I'm already having trouble remembering parts of it. I can recall details of books I read more than ten years ago, so I don't that's a good sign. A little too predictable, a little lacking in depth, "My Baby, My Love" is an entertaining page-turner with a lot of passion and danger. Just don't expect it to last in the memory too long afterward.

Summary: ANOTHER EXCELLENT BOOK BY AUTHOR
Review: Yup! another good one!
I was sure intrigued by Major Noah Inglewood and his connection to Sydney Edwards Inglewood but got into the story and couldn't put it down.
Sydney sure makes you believe that there are some nieve girls out there. But she sure is a stubborn one.
I loved her preoccupation with one little African Violet.
Her husband and Noah's brother, Jerome did quite a bit to complicate their lives.
But I guess that is small town life. The layout map included with each story helps a lot to put places in perspective. I felt that the stories moved along quite well. Enough to keep my interest.

I couldn't figure out how these characters fit into the Fools Point series but loved the stories.
After meeting Lee and Kayla in the first book, HI#539 along with Alex and Jake [a book I didn't have at the time] I found that I had read this one over a year ago and a second perusal didn't ruin my enjoyment - now have just finished #3 - HI#565 and am looking forward to #4 - HI#602
