Summary: A Perfect Ending For A Great Series
Review: Carla Cassidy's A FATHER'S LOVE is a wonderful book and a perfect ending for the LOST AND FOUND series. If you've read the first two books by Amanda Stevens and B.J. Daniels, this one is a must! And even if you haven't, A FATHER'S LOVE stands on its own as a truly great read.

Summary: Infuriating and Entertaining At the Same Time
Review: Every time I was about to get caught up in Carla Cassidy's latest, I was dragged back to earth, either by some glaring errors or the despicable "heroine." It's been seven months since Riley Kincaid was told by an old flame that she was about to give birth to his child. The mother was later killed in a fire at the hospital, and Riley has spent every minute since trying to be a good dad for his daughter, Kaycee. But now the sister of his child's mother has appeared, claiming that her sister was murdered--and that she wants custody of Kaycee.

Cassidy's mystery is pretty well plotted and wraps up the tale set in motion in "Somebody's Baby" by Amanda Stevens and "A Father for Her Baby" by B.J. Daniels. But I found that I really couldn't enjoy it. Everytime the heroine, Caralie, began thinking about how she wanted to take Kaycee away from Riley, I was immediately turned off. I thought she was a despicable human being through the entire book, and no amount of redeeming Cassidy tried to give her changed my opinion. She was just so incredibly selfish--at one point, she responds to Riley's story of his childhood and family by thinking that she can't wait to create a family of her own, once she's taken his daughter from him. No matter what kind of weak motivation she was given, I could not stop hating her for a moment.

There were also some rather obvious errors. On page 33, Caralie says that she and her sister were living in St. Louis when she left for Africa. On page 57, she tells Riley her sister was working in a bar in Houston when she left for Africa. Huh? And on pg.62, Riley's mother is introduced as "Margaret Riley." Thereafter, she's Margaret Kincaid, which does make more sense. If you can get past those kind of errors and a horrible heroine (who seems even worse since Riley is so nice), then "A Father's Love" might be something you should check out. The story is strong. Unfortunately, I just couldn't concentrate on it
