Rating: Summary: Surpasses the "Romance Novel" Stigma--Simply a Great Book Review: A must for mystery lovers. Ignore the sappy title; what's contained between the covers deserves better. "To Have vs. To Hold" brings us the story of Adam Justice, a lawyer whose wife left him seven years ago. Suddenly, the cops arrive on his door to tell him her body has been found--she's been dead for seven years--and her attorney, lady lawyer Whitney West, shows up with the news that his bride left a multi-million dollar estate. With the knowledge that he didn't know his wife at all, Adam sets out to figure out the mystery surrounding her life and death. The plotting and characterization are extraordinary. I dare anyone who dimisses it as a simple "romance novel" to read it. The mystery spins off in several unexpected directions and the terrific way Rodgers develops her characters makes us care so much more about them and their story. Surprisingly enough, I've read it four times already and every time, I'm surprised just how much the author was able to accomplish in a scant 250 pages. "To Have vs. To Hold" is a must-read for anyone who likes a great story and firmly establishes M.J Rodgers as one of the best writers ever of romantic suspense.
Rating: Summary: Romantic Times Review Review: Harlequin Intrigue#392 JUSTICE INC.Romantic Times Review: He has always been the ultra-conservative senior partner at Justice, Inc. When the beautiful lawyer shows up with a copy of his late wife's will, and the two begin uncovering a myriad of secrets and crime, his tough veneer just might begin to crack. No one combines romance and intrigue like M.J. Rodgers and TO HAVE VS. TO HOLD (4.5) is one of her best.
