Summary: Wonderful and funny
Review: Lady Gwendolyn (Wendy) Reed has a problem--her prince has disappeared and she'd got to come up with an alternative. Fortunately, a Texas cowboy looks the part. Unfortunately, he's a real Texan, complete with accent, Texas ways, and a certain charm that breaches the barriers she's built around her heart. Rancher Hank McCauley is intrigued by the pretty English woman and open to an adventure--but he's sure that is all. He's certainly not looking for a woman and definitely not looking for love. Still, as Wendy trains him, Hank's Texas nature gets him to tease her to open up, to try new things, and to take a chance. When it comes down to it, though, does she dare give up everything--her job, the respect of her family, and all of her friends, to take a chance with a Texan she's only known for a few days?

Author Victoria Chancellor has created a charming and funny story. Wendy's issues and dilemma feel real. Hank's Texasisms are endearing, sexy, and authentic. Too often, romantic humor seems to come only from the humorous situation. Chancellor's sly wit shows through the entire novel.
