Rating: Summary: Makes the cut Review: Cat married the wrong man for the wrong reasons, rejecting the hero, Nick, when he pitched passion and nothing much else to her at the eleventh hour before her wedding. Now, her husband, who also rescued young, wrong-side of the tracks Nick from the streets, is dead and Cat, with all the worry of an orphan she has adopted in war-torn Romit (what is it with naming countries? It appears one can mention New Zealand and the USA without prejudice but not anywhere that we all know about recent civilian carnage taking place) is forced to ask him, her trust-fund guardian, for much needed dollars. Nick digs up a woman he needs saving from and installs Cat as his "fiancée" in double quick time. But can he trust her or is she just after his money/family jewels/security? A goodly story, though suffering from Robyn Donald's recent shift to writing lighter tales with less well developed characters (apart from the heroes' muscles, which remain reliably long and lean), it capers along at a nice clip to a fine resolution. There is the odd jarring note - if Glen were serious about Cat not marrying again, then why put Nick in charge of her trust fund? Compare it with the ones Donald wrote in the 80s-90s though, and weep.
