Rating: Summary: Great detective novel Review: This is a great "who-dun-it." The heroine inherits land and a house in an isolated area from an unknown relative. She is a writer and a teacher who decides to live in the house so that she can have privacy to write and escape from a teaching job that has been nothing but trouble for her. All she wants is privacy but someone wants to harm her or scare her off. She is found in a wrecked car on the side of the road by the local lawman (the hero) and taken to a local clinic. She has been drugged and has a container of pills on her. The lawman waits for her to wake up and starts interigating her thinking she was taking tranquilizers and driving. She remembers being run off the road by teenage boys and them being in her car. She also thinks she was drugged at the cafe in her new town via her coffee. The lawman has a hard time believing her but he helps her as she is now a citizen in his jurisdiction. She is a mystery to him and she finds herself with more than one mystery to solve. As he tries to uncover the mysteries and help her, he finds intrigue and love right under his nose. This is a fun rainy day read.
