Her father is down below. Dead. He'd been dead these last couple of day. Heart attack probably. There is a storm raging and Cressida is steering the boat for dear life. She has radioed for help and soon she hears the huge engines of a fishing boat. They throw her a line. She misses. They throw it again, she grabs it, makes it fast and then a man from the fishing boat jumps into the sea and swims toward her. Cressida isn't quit sure, but it looks as if he might be smiling. He comes aboard, lets the line go, sails the boat into a safe harbor, then takes her home to his sheep ranch. His name is Luke Scrivner and he has shoulders oh so broad. Neither Cressida, inexperienced as she is, nor Luke have been looking for romance, but it looks as if it may have found them. This was a nice romance, sweetly told by Ms. Donald. She captures the spirit of New Zealand well and I should know, because I lived there for a long time. So, reading her writing was almost like going home.

She had been sailing with her father, when he had a heart attack and died! So now it is up to her to get the sailboat back to shore in New Zealand. Of course there is a huge storm going on and Cressida is having to hang on tight. It seems like forever before help arrives in the form of a fishing boat. Her savior, the very handsome Luke, jumps in the water, swims over to her boat and gets them to a safe harbor. This is the start of a very sweet romance for Cressida and her hero. I really enjoyed Sweetest Trap, the characters were likeable and believable. The locale descriptions were awe-inspiring (now I want to go to New Zealand!) and the writing was all around great. This is a must read for romance fans. A Harlequin Dreamers Review by Sandra Sherman
