Summary: Teacher's Pet, well, Maybe Not!
Review: Every spring Katherine Reed's first year grad students are supposed to propose, participate in and document a sociological study and to show the students that she considers them professionals, Katherine also participates. Before she'd never had a problem, however this year they want to do a study on cohabitation, how male and female roommates get along with each other and moreover, can they, without doing you know what.

Katherine is interviewing potential roommates for the experiment and the are all, to say the least, losers. She is beginning to dread the next semester, beginning to think she'd rather be anywhere else than Rockford, Illinois, when she sees him, Michael Tardo, talking to a couple of her students. She and Michael had been friends eight years ago, back in her college days at Northern Illinois University. However, she'd had a horrible crush on him and wanted to take the relationship further. He'd had many girlfriends during their time together, but Katherine was never more than a friend.

Michael owns a bar that caters to college kids in Rockford and right now he's got a problem. It seems the daughter of a very good friend has a crush on him and he wants a way to get her off his back, without hurting her or upsetting his friend. When he hears of Katherine's study he sees a way out. If he is living with Katherine, the girl will think he is in a relationship and move on.

At first Katherine is against him moving in, but he talks her into it. And it's not too long before he starts seeing Katherine in a new light. How long can these two live together, before they invalidate the experiment?

Erica Spindler, who has moved on to writing delicious Romantic Suspense novels like: SEE JANE DIE, IN SILENCE and DEAD RUN, has written a first class romance in READ BETWEEN THE LINES, one that I dearly loved and one I think you'll love too.
