But she needs to catch a wealthy man, so she can stay at home, tend to the family, live a comfortable life, and travel. To achieve her goal, Lisa must set herself up as marriage bait. She undergoes a complete makeover; transforming herself from mousy gopher to stunning administrative assistant.
Scot Harding wants the perfect administrative assistant--and he's found that in Lisa Wilson. He's desperate to work with a quality associate, and someone who will fill the minority requirements, so he assists Lisa with her plan by loaning her $5,000 to help with her makeover with the agreement that she accepts the promotion to pay back the loan. Never does Scot expect to be the one to fall for Lisa's marriage bait.
Stephanie's Review:
Another unsettling story--and not in a good way.
We don't *really* know why Lisa wants to be a wife and a mother so badly. We know that, as a child, an aunt provided for Lisa financially while another relative took care of Lisa emotionally. But that didn't feel like a driving motivation-probably because it wasn't explored deep enough--so I was still left wondering about the appeal of being a homebody. Lisa focused so much of her attention on finding a man who's rich that it made me wonder if she was really just looking for a sugar daddy.
Scot Harding also left a bad taste in my mouth. If Lisa hadn't gotten the full makeover, would he have *really* noticed her and be attracted to her? Looks change and fade over time. I'm left wondering if he'll stay with Lisa long-term.
