Summary: Not great, but an interesting start to a series
Review: This book starts slowly. Stick with it, and it gradually develops into an interesting tale set in Colonial America. The characters at times seem a bit too perfect, but the author showed the good sense to show flaws in their personalities and behavior. It was good enough that, after finishing it, I was looking forward to reading Book Two, "The Great Deception."
