Rating: Summary: Exciting perspective on relationships between sisters Review: Jane Heller writes a fun and exciting book most young adults and adults can enjoy. The story of two completely different sisters is interesting and entertaining. The ideas of careers and the well thought out detail in every seen of the book was something you had to love. Heller develops a strong story line and easily draws a comparison and still contracts the two main characters Deborah and Sharon Peltz. Her addition of a murder mystery to a realistic fiction novel was not only unique but it also made the book more suspenseful and interesting. The characters were very well developed and the detail of each place and person was astonishing. This writer can easily be a role model to all inspiring authors. The morals of this book were crucial as well. It teaches people how through bad times you need someone to be there for you. In addition, it teaches you nothing good can come from fighting over a man. Again, this book was wonderful and i give it the highest rating possible.

Rating: Summary: Another fun Jane Heller novel Review: SIS BOOM BAH by Jane Heller
August 8, 2004
As always, Jane Heller delivers and SIS BOOM BAH is no exception. In this novel, Deborah and Sharon are sisters that don't get along. In the opening chapter, their mother is turning seventy-five and is expecting both of them to be at her birthday party. Sharon is helping to cater the event. Deborah needs to bury the hatchet, so she flies down to Florida to spend time with her family.
In the mean time, Deborah is making a living writing for a popular television soap opera, "From This Day Forward", and is currently dating one of its stars. When Woody the head scriptwriter gets fired, Deborah's job is on the line, and she soon finds herself without a boyfriend (Philip was only dating her, she learns, because of her inside scoop on the actor's character on the show). To top it off, Deborah's apartment is burglarized, and she feels that maybe it seems to be the right time to make a change in her life.
Deborah flies down to Florida for the big birthday bash, and is told there is a job opening at the local historical center so she contemplates taking the job. When her mother has a heart attack, Deborah sees this as an omen and accepts the job and moves her things out of her New York apartment.
Deborah and Sharon are now forced to deal with each other, since their mother has asked the two women to get along for her sake. Dr. Jeffrey Hirshon is the cardiologist that saves their mother's life, and during visiting hours, both women find themselves falling for the charming doctor. One thing leads to another, and soon the sisters find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The two sisters continue their bickering as they try to solve the murder. While contemplating potential suspects, Deborah finds something very suspicious about Sharon's new beau, who also happens to be an ex-classmate of Hirshon. Deborah also suspects her new neighbor Ray Scalley, who at times seems very suspicious too, yet she is not sure if she likes him or not. She remembers Ray didn't like Hirshon when the doctor was alive. Could Ray possibly be the murderer?
This sounds like a serious murder mystery, but it's not. This is a typical Jane Heller romp, with laughs coming from every page. The book does keep the reader going with the "who-dunnit" aspect of the story line, but all in all, it's one laugh after another as everyone gets into one scrape after the next. If this book doesn't turn a reader into a fan of Jane Heller's, nothing will.
Rating: Summary: What a Hoot! Review: Sis Boom Bah is the tale of two sisters who cannot be near each other without bickering. Deborah writes for a New York-based soap opera and her older sister Sharon is a successful wedding planner in Boca. Their lives have been a constant pattern of estrangement and sarcastic set-downs. Only the health of their mother, who has just suffered a heart attack, can convince the sisters to call a truce. What happens next is a roller-coaster ride of mayhem, murder and romance! This book will definitely keep you laughing. If you are looking for a light casual beach book, this one's for you!
Rating: Summary: Sis Boom Bah Review: Sis Boom Bah was an exciting and fast paced read. It's a story about murder, about family, and about love. The murder part of the book adds excitement and thrill to the novel. It makes you wonder what will happen next. Then there is the part about family. Not only does this book touch base on what its like when your mother has a heart attack, but it also elaborates on sibling rivalry. In the story, Deborah doesn't get along with her sister Sharon at all. After discovering a dead body, they come to realize that they need to team up and find who really commit the murder. They realize that they are each other's alibi. Love is also a pig part of the plot line. In the beginning of the book, Deborah and Sharon both have a crush on their mother's doctor. When he winds up dead, they both have to find new people to love. The book is great if you fight with your sister, it shows you that you need to over come this and get along. It made me feel bad every time I was fighting with my sister. Its also an uplifting novel if you are looking for love in your forties and have either been married many times or never married at all. Its also a good book if you need something to just curl up in bed and read. Its fast paced, so you can read it in only a few sittings even though it seems kind of long.
