Summary: A FUNNY THRILLER...
Review: I adore this book 'cause it's incredibly funny and suspenseful at the same time! The characters are descriptive and Heller gives them all that "Souther flair." If there's one thing I should say about this book, it's that it is smart. The plots, the characters, the setting, everything is just so realistic and perfectly described. And the problems that these two sisters have will definitely make you laugh!! This is a great read during any season!!

Summary: waste of time.
Review: I bought this book at the airport figuring it would be a quick and fun read. Well, I left it on the plane -- unfinished. I never expected a literary masterpiece but I did expect something fairly intelligent. The plot was contrived, and the characters were stupid and shallow. Not only was I annoyed with myself for spending money on this book, but I still had two hours to kill on the plane.

Summary: Her best book yet!!
Review: I enjoy all of her books, but this one was the funniest yet. An easy read, with enough unpredictable and outrageous scenes to keep you interested from start to finish. Can't recommend highly enough!

Summary: Quick, Funny, Entertaining, I loved it!!
Review: I finished this book in two days, which is rare for me, but I couldn't put it down. It was just so entertaining! I have loved all of Jane Heller's books, and this book really makes me want to visit Stuart, Florida! The only thing that didn't make sense was why would a highly paid daytime TV writer buy a used 1982 Pontiac?? Other than that, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. Please write another one soon.

Summary: Breezy and a very fun read
Review: I had so much fun reading this book. The dialogue is snappy and the emotional struggle between the two sisters is very true to life. The ending-- which I won't give away--was pleasingly predictable, but also held a lot of tiny, comic surprises. I'm very eager to read more of Jane Heller's work; I'm surprised this accomplished novel hasn't received more publicity.

Summary: What a hilarious book!
Review: I have a sister and I have to confess, our relationship is not that volatile like Deborah has with her sister Jennifer. We don't hit each other and we definitely do not make cracks about each other's choices in our spouses, kids, jobs and stuff like that. Which is why this book is so entertaining!!

Deborah and Jennifer have come to a temporary truce to halt their bickering when their mother gets a heart attack and asked her girls to stop fighting and start getting along. However, they decided their mother's cardiologist was just a gem they couldn't resist passing over ~~ they were discovered arguing outside his house and over his dead body by the police. That is when the adventures begin. Deborah had just moved down to Florida from New York to be close to her mother, and this is what happens. She gets smacked dob in the middle of a murder investigation. Unable to sit still, she involves herself in asking all known suspects questions and pass her tips onto the police department. In the meantime, Jennifer gets hooked up with a sleazy attorney and no matter what Deborah says to her ~~ Jennifer is convinced that this is Husband Four. And the fun continues.

A friend of mine mailed me this book to help pass the time of being on bed rest ~~ and I would have never guessed that it's out there ~~ but sure am glad it is! I read it entirely in a day and had such a blast with it! I don't recall laughing this much over some of the sarcastic remarks other people make in books ~~ and Deborah, in my opinion, is a fun character. Her sister, Jennifer, will get on your nerves especially when you realize that Deborah is doing everything she can to help protect her older sister. Their mother is a fun gem ~~ sparkly and lively at the age of 75. The sleezeball attorney reeks of crookedness just by Heller's descriptions and on it goes. And Deborah's love interest sounds divine ~~ manly and sensitive. It goes on. It's just a fun book ~~ nothing too deep to lose sleep over and it's perfect for those who are restricted to bed rest, hospital stays or home recovering from the flu ~~ it's just fun!

Summary: An entertaining, quick read!
Review: I love to read but I am not a quick reader so for me a book has to be (1) good enough to keep my interest for a long time, and (2) simple (no BIG words -- save those for work!), and (3) entertaining and up-lifting. This book meets all these requirements! I loaned this book to a frazzled friend for therapy and now she is a Jane Heller fan too. Also read "Crystal Clear" -- perfect for those long hours at the airport!

Summary: Jane strikes again with another winner
Review: If you spend and hour at the card shop looking for the appropriate sentiment for the sister who has NOT "always been my best friend"...this offering from Jane Heller is for you. Once again Jane strikes with lighthearted honesty at the realities of relationships between women. And once again she hits the mark.

Summary: I read this when I was fighting with my sister.
Review: It was great. I'm making my sister read it now, maybe she'll get over being mad at me for whatever it was that I did.

Summary: You will laugh out loud!
Review: Jane Heller is my new favorite author! This book was just TOO funny.

The story takes place near Boca Raton, Fl where I have had the pleasure to visit. I kept picturing "Del Boca Vista's" from Seinfield for the atmosphere. Two sisters (one from NY) are reunited after several estranged years to take care of their sick mother. Needless to say, the two sisters have not had the best relationship and can't stand each other. IE - At first when they see each other, one sister compliments the other's dress as looking like a tablecloth.

Both sisters are in competition for a handsome and charming doctor, and when they both find him dead in his house - they are suspects in his murder. The sisters are bound and determined to clear their name and find the true killer.

Heller lives up to her style of writing which will have a little bit of something for all readers. Laughing, mystery..and just when you think you've figured out what's going on, the plot thickens...
