Summary: Impressed and Delighted!
Review: ....Boy, am I glad I [bought this book] .... I loved how the roles of the hero
and heroine are reversed. I loved the premise of the story. And I
particularly loved the characters. Flat? I don't get it. They were
WONDERFUL! I have to admit, this is the first review I've ever
written and the only reason I decided to try and write one was because
of Ms. Tucker. But when I saw how many reviews she did and how many
other authors she trashed, I decided I better put my own two cents in
and set things straight.The general premise is that the hero has
given up his country in order to save it. So he goes to the US and is
"given" the heroine as a birthday gift. When she sees how
he's turned his back on his native country, she gives him a series of
gifts to try and give him back some small bit of what he gave up when
he left his home. The heroine was raised in the Middle East and never
knew her American roots. So after she's returned to her relatives in
the Middle EAst, the hero goes after her and gives her typical
American gifts. The sweetness and compassion of each of the two,
giving gifts from the heart, made this story absolutely unputdownable.
By the time the ending came, I was in tears it was so wonderful. Read
this book and judge for yourself. You won't be sorry. This is one of
the best books I've read all year and that's saying a lot!

didn't really make any sense. She substitutes herself for the
birthday gift, but doesn't have a plan as to what to do when she gets
to America. The hero's secretary doesn't even blink at the events she
sees. I believe in loyalty to one's boss, but there are limits! I
suppose everyone's tastes are different, so some people might like
this book. ....

To avoid being forced into marriage as a political pawn or to a man in his 70s, Zara takes the place of the birthday gift, hoping to find her American relatives.Ridiculous premise and flat characters made this book a chore to finish. As a child of American parents, Zara would carry American citizenship, no matter where she was born, even if her mother later married a foreigner. Zara's family is given a bad reputation up until we meet them, then you discover that they love her and wouldn't want her hurt. Surely they wouldn't try to force her into a marriage she doesn't want? Nothing makes sense. If you're a fan of sheikh stories, skip this book.

Review: This is such a delightful book. I loved it from the first page to the last. Zara is both sweet, and yet feisty. I thoroughly enjoyed the give and take between her and Malik. He was so great. It was so funny watching this strong, tough guy trying to deal with Zara. He's crazy about her, frustrated by her, and can't keep his hands off her. I didn't realize these books could be so sexy. It was an incredible story that had all the best elements. A strong hero, a strong heroine, who doesn't let him get away with anything. There were also a lot of sweet, funny gifts that they give to each other. Great book!
