Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD! READ IT! Review: This book is SUPER good! I loved because it was so realistic and I felt I was at the farm and races with Leslie. I felt sad for Leslie in the end when -opps! I better not spoil the ending! ;)Well, I really liked the book and if you like horses and love to read, you should read this book! (Even if you don't like to read or love horses- you should read this book!)
Rating: Summary: A WONDERFUL Book!!!! Review: This book like the rest in the TB seris was wonderful. Every time I read one of these books I feel like I am in the story with the charaters and this is happening to me!! This book was not an exception. I wish all horses have as much heart as Battlecry did!! I was very in to the book, so much that I cried. These books are fantastic. I am a horse lover and I love them and recammend them to others who love horses!!!
Rating: Summary: Suprise! Review: This book should really be part of the Thoroughbred series, as it is about Fleet Goddess's sire, Battlecry. Leslie convinces her father to rescue a worthless 5Yo stallion who she believes could do anything. As they over come trials they become closer and closer until the heartbreaking point when Battlecry runs himself literally into the ground to win.
Rating: Summary: Battle "Cry" Is Right Review: This book totally touched my heart. I cried at the end. Joanna did a fabulous job (just like the rest of the series). Great book. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This book was excellent. Lesile D'Andrea is at horse auction when she sees a neglected racehorse, Battlecry. She trains him back into racing, after begging her father to give him a chance. He runs several races throughout the summer and wins most of them. This is the first time he has won races. It was so sad that he died after winning the Breeder's Cup Classic. I almost cried and felt really bad for Lesile. Definitely read this book!
Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: This books is wonderful! It is rather sad, but it makes you want to keep reading. It's a great kids book! All of Joanna Campbell's books are great!:-)
Rating: Summary: IT LEFT ME CRYING, BUT IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This I personaly think that this was one of the best Thoroughbred books. It was beautifuly written and very emotional. It took a lot of courage to buy a worthless horse from a auction. I think Battlecry had tons of heart to win a race and then die because he wanted to win! The only book that you could compare it to is #9 Pride's Challenge. I remember reading it at night and just crying myself to sleep. Mostly the best books leave you crying at the end. If there were more than 5 stars than I would still rate it the hightest! E-Mail me if you love HORSES!!!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Horse Books Review: This is one of the best horse stories ever written. Leslie's devotion to Battlecry, and the fact that it takes more than love in her horse, namely hard work, is a lesson to anyone about what one can accomplish if you work hard enough and believe strong enough. Though the book is a tear jerker and will leave you bawling in the end it is still one of the best horse books out there and I highly recommend it to any horse crazy kid I know. I have saved my original copy (from twelve years ago) and plan to pass it down to my own daughter.
Rating: Summary: This book is based on my quest to save racing Thoroughbreds Review: Too many racing Thoroughbreds are sent off to slaughter when their money-making days are over. This book talks about how a girl's love gives an otherwise condemned Thoroughbred a second chance. This book ties in to my other horse books, including the Thoroughbred Series, and Star of Shadowbrook Farm. Please feel free to contact me at tbred@mint.net Joanna Campbell, aka Jo Ann Simon
Rating: Summary: Battlecry Forever Review: When I bought this book I was in mere grade school and it didn't have the Thoroughbred heading on it if I remember right. I kind of regret donating it to a library because it was my favorite young adult novel for years. This book even jerked a few tears from me when I was ten years old. It's a cute book, and I think that the storyline is a little more believable than a lot of other campbell books I've laid my hands on. I absolutely loved it and I recommend it to any young girl with a love for horses.
