Review: The description of this book above does not do it justice. While on the surface it is the story of Steven, Ellen, and their respective families, the book is so much more. It is the story of a man picking up the pieces of his life and learning to live without the woman he loves. It is the story of commitment, to your spouse and your children. The author fills the book with scenes and moments that you feel could only have come from real life. There are several scenes that really come to life...Steven and Ellen at the carnival, exploring their feelings about each other for the first time, for example. "And Those Left Behind" reminds me of some of the best works by Nicholas Sparks ("A Walk To Remember"), Richard Paul Evans ("The Christmas Box"), and Elizabeth Berg ("Open House"). If you like any of these authors, you'll love "And Those Left Behind".
