They make passionate, detailed love. He takes places, physically, emotionally, mentally, that she has never been before.A few years later he falls sick, she takes care of him til the end.because of the short time he has left, she accomplishes her dreams and helps him accomplish his, so they can share the joy together, no matter what it takes. Summary: Engrossing Story
Review: A Crack in Forever is a unique story of a couple who is dealing with AIDS. We get to see them before the diagnosis, and after. We get to see her point of view, and can vividly imagine his. Most of all, we see a different type of love story. I'm hesitant to call it JUST a love story, but especially the first half, you can't ignore the romantic side amidst the tragedy.

Over-all I loved the book. It was a quick read at only 300 pages- perfect length for the story told. I enjoyed the characters, who I did NOT feel were stereotypical at all- and I read constantly. The only thing I would have liked to see more of was relationships with other people developed more. We got to see the couple, Eric & Alex, we met their parents, siblings, friends- but we didn't really get to know the other people. However, the vivid descriptions of feelings and surroundings made up for what was lacking. There were sentences & paragraphs I felt like highlighting, they moved or touched me so.

I'd definitely recommend this book to someone. Although, if you're not comfortable with AIDS, as some reviewers didn't seem to be, this might be a book to skip.

Summary: I read it in one sitting and sobbed for hours afterwards!
Review: A crack in forever is the most wonderful book that I have ever read. So wonderful infact that I bought copies for all my friends so that they could share in the experience with me. I have never cried as much as when I came to the end of this book I actually felt emotionally exhausted! I eagerly await for Jeannie Brewer's next novel- if you're out there Ms.Brewer Thankyou for a wonderful love story.

Summary: Wonderful and touching - idealized, but still gripping
Review: I agree with several of the opther reviews listed here that the characters are not particularly deep. And Eric is truly too perfect to be true. But their love is compelling because it is the love we all wish we felt in our lives (many of us have it, if we would just let it in more...). As their dreams are coming true the ultimate destructor arrives - death looming in the form of AIDS. I did cry at the end of this, not just for the characters, but for the people who have loved and lost so much to this disease, who have felt hopelessness and bravery. I thought the minor characters, such as the people in the AIDS Survivors support group were occasionally more interesting than our main characters. They were simple, yet real. The journey of letting someone go is compeling in and of itself. I hope that more books deal with the ravages of this horrid disease so that we learn from each other's experiences.

Summary: Heart-wrenching
Review: I am an enthusiastic reader of books,so much so that "A crack in forever" has been sitting on my bedside table for almost 6 months now, there were many to read before it but no other had such an overwhelming effect on me.This book stirred a lot of supressed feelings in me,it made my heart break but it gave me hope,it made me cry as if it was I and not Al who was losing a lover and soul-mate but it made me smile that true love can exist if we could only get past foolish pride and fear of the unknown. It made me want to live a better life....and be a better person.I went in search of this site to see if it would be possible to get an e-mail address to write to Jeannie Brewer,I wanted to let her know what an extraordinary achievement this story is,something she should be eternally proud of. Finally a wish for peace and comfort to all the "Aids Survivors",.....God Bless you all.

Summary: Beautiful story
Review: I bought this book at the airport in London and the second I started reading, I could not put it down. A definite tear jerker and a very real, modern story. I recommend it to everyone but could not find it in the states. Glad to see that Amazon carries it.

Summary: I cried so hard
Review: I cried so hard. This book is the only book i have ever known to make me cry. I could not stop crying. I love this book and it touched me in a way no other book has. This book is worth your money and worth your time. Its a very quick read but a very moving one at that. I thought it would be a really bad novel, but once i got into it it was okay. Eric has AIDS i couldn't believe it. I wont give away any part of the story. You wouldnt understand it anyways. Read the book. Think about it.

Summary: I haven't cried in my life more than this time!!
Review: I do like love stories and I preferred to read stories with happy endings..but this story is outstanding ...I haven't read any story like this one.. It contains love, fear, death and all the meanings in our life that we might forget during our physical life..I cried during their suffering.. It makes you know the real meaning of death, love and faith.. I like the game M&Ms.. I love it..
