Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not up to her recent standards Review: I am a big fan of Sandra Brown's romantic suspense writing. I purchased 'The Crush' as soon as it was available and read it immediately. Sure I had high expectations, but even considering that fact, this book is not up to Brown's recent standards. 'Envy', 'The Switch','Exclusive','The Witness','French Silk' and 'The Alibi' are well written and have much more carefully crafted plots. Try those if you want a good story. This story was reminiscent of Brown's earlier writing, using the story just to get to the romantic conclusion.

She ends up being the jury foreman hearing the case of Ricky Roy Lozada, a high priced free-lance hit man on trial for murder. Even though Rennie believes Lozada is guilty, there is not enough evidence, in her opinion, to convict him and she convinces the other jury members to acquit.During the trial Lozada looks at Rennie constantly, so much so that the Fort Worth police thinks the two of them have some kind of relationship. They set up a surveillance on her house and one of the team members is Wick Threadgill, the brother of the police officer Lozada killed. During the course of the observation, Wick gets to know Rennie (think Stakeout) and concludes she is not guilty of collaboration with the killer. Both are attracted to the other, but they have personal demons to overcome and Lozada to put away before they can try for a happily ever after ending. One of Sandra Brown's trademarks is that she can draw out the suspense in her romantic thrillers until the readers is eagerly turning the pages to find out what happens next. Both protagonists are broken personally but the way they heal each other is a beautiful thing to behold. THE CRUSH is a chilling work about obsession taken to the ultimate limit. Harriet Klausner
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: creepy stalker Review: Sandra Brown has become one of my favorite writers. This book in particular wasn't as heavy as some of her books. This one you knew who the bad guy was but didn't know when he would come around. The chemistry between the two main charaters was typical and predictable but with their different personalities they meshed very well together. A very good book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Addicted Review: I absolutely loved this book. I read it three times. The chemistry between Rennie and Wick is awesome. I fell in love with The cowboy charm in this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Overall ok but not that original Review: Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors. Even though she has lots of better ones, Crush is overall a satisfying well paced emotional thriller. Whilst reading this book, I immediately remembered another story by Susan Andersen whose name is Obsessed (probably was published in the beginning of 1990s). That's why it lacks of some originality. However, Dr Rennie Newton and Wick Threadgill were remarkable characters. That's obviously is the talent of the romance backrounded author. Overall, it was one of those books that is great for lazy days and free time. If you like the way Sandra Brown writes, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Enjoyable book with above average plot and writing style Review: Sandra Brown is an author I read for escapism. She writes love stories and lately has action-packed storylines to go with her love stories and she makes them work.
I could almost envision Wick...very wicked yet sexy character who has flaws but has morals and wants the girl.
The sexy yet controlled surgeon who gets to be a heroine and needs a little rescuing herself.
The villian whom they must outsmart was generically drawn but he is not the main character of the love story so that is forgiven.
Decent ending that I did not see coming that tied everything together.
I will always purchase Sandra Brown's novels because she never disappoints.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Oh well Review: Another good writer who knows how to get you to turn those pages. I was letdown by how this story unfolded however. The crazy cop/good cop characters had me imagining Mel Gibson/ Danny Glover of the Lethal Weapon series. But Wick, the crazy cop, became more obnoxious as the story moved along that I didn't care what happened to him. (I couldn't imagine him being as likeable as Gibson would be) I loved the Rennie character, but hated how her storyline unfolded. The ending was a letdown. It really could have ended several more interesting ways. But, oh well.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... no, just six stars for this one Review: If you want to open a book and don't close it until you finish, try this one, you will get involved in the story and you will hate and love Wick and Rennie, but you will never expect what will be written in the next page, sometimes you will think that how a man whom recently had surgery could do what ever did Wick, but the book is so well written that that part doesn't matter. The end is amazing is the only thing I could tell.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: It's a keeper Review: This is definitely not one of Sandra Brown's best novels, but it was satisfying.
Some of the circumstances were in my opinion highly unlikely. The story was slow paced and somehow the action I expected to start anytime soon never started. The way Wick and his partner caught Lozada I think was pathetic. Brown portrayed Rick as a smart guy who would've guessed he was being set up.
The relationship between the main characters was very intense and emotional. Wick and Rennie made up for the plot's flaws and the lack of action.
