Summary: Violent tempers a happy book do not make
Review: First, this book is more like a love story for two separate couples, Raven and Roxanne and Peter, the brother, and Pamela, the second heiress and Roxanne's cousin. While Raven chases after Roxanne (whom he originally scared off in the first place), Peter, bedridden with a broken leg, begins falling in love with Pamela, Raven's betrothed, who nurses him back to health.

My problem with this book is the relationship between Raven and Roxanne. For almost three-fourths of the book (or more), these two characters are at each others' throats. They cannot stand each other, hurling insults and threats. During this whole time, there is maybe one time, when Raven first catches up with Roxanne (before she runs away again), where the two characters softened toward each other. But even then, they didn't soften much. Then, toward the end of the book, the characters do an abrupt about-face, decide they love each other, and have sex. This makes the characters seem false and completely unrealistic.

The redeeming quality of the book is the romance between Peter and Pamela. Unlike the Raven/Roxanne relationship, Peter and Pamela were always decent and kind to each other, acting more like rational adults than impulsive children. Their relationship built throughout the book, starting with innocence, hidden attraction and ending with a calmer, enduring, giving love. The romance between Peter and Pamela was nicely done and the only enjoyable aspect of this book.

Summary: Two books in one
Review: This books was like reading two books in one. The twins, Raven & Peter, were told by the king to wed cousins, Roxy and Pamula. This story is about both of thier adventures to find each other. The writing was very well done and I felt as if I were there. I like authors that can make me feel part of the story.

Of course Raven and Peter wanted the bride that didn't belong to them. Each wanted the others entended, made for a lot of hush converstations and quilty feelings. Some of which I found quite comical.

I would recommend this book for anyone that likes romances set back in time where they lived in keeps and castles. With the descriptions I could almost smell the land.

I read this book over a few evenings. I could have finished it sooner but life got in the way.

Summary: a good second book
Review: This is the second book in this series. This book is actually two love stories put into one. The hero's are the twins, Peter and Raven. They are the brothers to Lucien, from the first book "A Knight's Vow".
The story starts out with the King ordering Peter and Raven to marry two Welsh heiresses. Peter is to marry Roxanne and Raven is to marry Pamela. Pamela is heiress to a vast estate while Roxanne is the last daughter and even though she has no land to give the King is giving as her dowry a cache of valuables.

Roxanne is a fiesty woman who desires nothing more that to return to her home and have nothing to do with the English. She and Peter take a walk and Peter slips and breaks his leg. Roxanne takes this as her chance to escape and flees bck to her home. Since Peter can't go after her he sends his twin Raven after her. Now Raven dislikes Roxanne and is only doing this because he is forced to. Pamela stays behind with Peter to help with his healing.

Soon after Raven leaves Peter and Pamela discover that they have feelings for each other but know that each is promised to another so they fight their passions and love. Raven meanwhile has caught up to Roxanne and soon discovers that he finds her desirable and she him.

This is an enjoyable romp with danger, passion, friendship, honor, and love all rapped up in one book. I did like the first book just a bit better than this one but was glad i bought both.
