Summary: A wonderful, romantic story from a talented new author!
Review: I loved CAROLINA ROSE! Tracy Sumner's debut novel is full of passion, interesting detail, and heart-warming romance. Charlie is everything a heroine should be: strong, intelligent, and willing to stand up for the things she believes in--even if that means butting heads with a cynical (sexy!) stranger named Adam. I loved watching the two of them try so hard not to fall in love when it was obvious they belonged together. CAROLINA ROSE is fresh, fun, and romantic...a keeper!

Summary: A really great romantic read!
Review: I loved the characters Carolina Rose. Charlie and Adam have a real sense of love and the setting is very charming. Small town America. An interesting cast of supporting characters, too. I couldn't put Carolina Rose down!

Summary: New author Tracy Sumner has a hit with her debut novel!
Review: Refreshing and delightful, it is set in South Carolina in the 1850s.

Charlie Whitney is an independent spinster at the age of 24 who doesn't much care what people think of her wearing pants. Having lost her father and now losing the newspaper she and her father worked so hard on, Charlie is dead-set against liking Adam Jared Chase. What she doesn't count on is that he wants to help her make a success of the paper.

Adam, filled with ghosts of days past, is the new editor of The Sentinel. Finding Charlie amusing, yet hard-headed, he is determined to work with her to help her be a better journalist. What he doesn't want to do is trust her or to fall in love with her.

When Charlie and Adam begin to depend on the other for the support and strength that they each need, a spark starts in their relationship that they aren't even aware of. It's then that things get really interesting and their relationship begins to bloom!

Charlie and Adam, as well as Tracy Sumner's other characters, are far from perfect, making this a delightful and refreshing read. I look forward to reading this new author's future books, and I recommend you don't miss this one!

Summary: Thank you for taking the time to read about my debut novel!
Review: Susan Wiggs, author of The Charm School, says about Carolina Rose: "The battle of the sexes heats up the pages of this fun and fresh romance by talented new author Tracy Sumner."

South Carolina, 1850. Charlie Whitney isn't like the other ladies of Edgemont. She wears trousers, speaks her mind, and has burning ambitions as a journalist. She desperately wants to make a success of her late father's newspaper. Unfortunately, the job has been handed to Adam Chase, a big city editor from Richmond who doesn't like being in Edgemont any more than Charlie wants him there--even if he has sparked powerful feelings in her.

Adam believes in the power of the press and not much else, including love or happiness. He just wants to get the paper on its feet and get back to Richmond, away from the temptations that Charlie evokes. But he needs her to make the paper a success, and, like it or not, she needs him to teach her the writing trade.

Soon, Charlie's learning much more than how to report the news. In Adam's arms, she discovers the true meaning of passionate love...and the fine line between ambition and desire.

I would love to hear from readers at Chicago921@aol.com.

Review: This is a wonderful love story--the chemistry between Adam and Charlotte is felt by the reader right away and it carries through the entire novel. I enjoyed the secondary characters, which I sometimes do not. The sex scenes are terrific and believable. Do not miss this new author!

Summary: Great romantic read, full of interesting characters!
Review: Tracy Sumner creates wonderful, compelling characters in Adam and Charlie, two people whose unique personalities put them on the fringe of society and perfect for each other. What really amazed me about this book is how strong and vibrant Sumner makes her characters and how much I was caught up in their story. It's a great romantic read, heartfelt and sensual at the same time. A truly enjoyable book. Sumner is a fresh voice in historical romance and I look forward to more!

Summary: Carolina Rose is a pure delight -- a real winner
Review: Tracy Sumner has written a book blending dark secrets and sensuality, mixed with subtle humor. Holds the reader until the last page is turned. A first book, Carolina Rose will surely be hard to follow. Ms. Sumner writes stunning dialogue and is a master of descriptive phrasing.
