Review: When I started writing Richer by Far, I had no idea whether anyone would be interested in reading a contemporary, wholesome romance novel set in rural Oregon. No sex or violence--just a simple love story about regular people. I've since discovered that such a book does have an audience. As I have met and corresponded with readers of Richer by Far, many have told me how refreshing they find it to read a story that is happy and uplifting, one that emphasizes the sense of community that is the hallmark of small-town American life. Though the town of Silver Pine exists only in my mind, its essence is a composite of the warmth and friendliness I have experienced during the many years I have lived with my family in three wonderful Oregon towns: Fossil, Canyon City, and Bend.
