Summary: I wish I could put 7 stars
Review: Five is just for the laughs...the xtra 2 would be for the MOVIE... Nana was so good, I wish Ms. Poitier-Henderson would consider making this a film. It reminded me of the old Cary Grant movies, like "Arsenic and Old Lace" Filmed in black and white. (smile) The characters of Nana were lively and happy and RIGHT up to the end, the story was face paced and moving. Never a dragging moment. Pamela, Bert, Nana and "the People" come together through some really funny times and I have to say... the fight scene was hilllarious! I could just picture it! The plot was deep enough to make it through the laughs too! Some comedies are just funny and afterwards you ask yourself ... what was that all about? but Nana's plot was rich. It was an overall GOOOD read! Looking forward to more from Beverly.

Summary: Funny and Loving!
Review: I'm so happy to have read "Nana". It was a welcomed change! Funny, loving and it reminded me of my relationship with my Grandmother. Pamela was such a devoted granddaughter, she was trying so hard to fight off the "ghosts" but she had to put those feelings aside and go along with her Grandmother's scheme. I love the personalitites of the "ghosts"! It was a great read and I would recommend the book to everyone that is stuck on reading all of the "boy/girl" drama books. Beverly has done a great job in wrapping up all the lose ends and bringing the story together for a great ending! Sistah's On The Reading book club members welcome the chance to meet with Beverly in Antioch, CA one day.

Summary: eccentric, nonconformists
Review: Nana is eccentric where it is witty; Hilarious where it is silly; and adoring where it is exciting. Beverly Poitier-Henderson uses humor to grease the heartstrings she tugs. Her characters are amicable, nonconformists that insist that you love them instantly. With a story line based around saving the life of a true love you have never met, this novel tickles your attention from beginning to end. Slight downside: time flies by when you're having fun. (I just wish it was a tad longer; but cutting the jaw-flapping and getting right down to the meat is what Beverly's writing is all about.) Keep me posted on her next release, I'm game!

Summary: A hilarious, feel good read!
Review: Pamela is an accomplished, single professional. Her grandmother, Nana, is a nut - or so everyone thinks, simply because Nana talks to spirits. And, these invisible people have definite plans for Pamela and her future...

With delightfully quirky characters and a twisty, otherworldly plot, NANA is the feel good read of the year. I found myself laughing every other page!

A story that restores your faith in love, life and the hereafter.

Summary: Unique and fast -paced!
Review: This is a good story of an old lady who sees haints. Nana wants to see her granddaughter married before she walks with those she communicates with.
Nana has a terrible time convincing Pamela that the spirits not only know who "her true love" is but they also know that he is about to be murdered by his wife and his business partner.
Pammy is finally spooked into compliance. She foils the murder plot and the reader assumes, get the man of her dreams.
It's a good little book.

Summary: A Wonderful Page Turner Anyone Would Enjoy
Review: This was definitely a page turner right from the start. I found myself falling out laughing at Pam, Nana, Alveda, and especially the ghosts. Some books add so much extra and so many characters doing so many different things with so much drama, that you get lost and find yourself struggling through the story. Not this one!!! You didn't necessarily know where you were going to end up, but you were sure to be confident in that it was going to be a gut busting blast the whole way through. I loved it. It had enough sass to be considered contemporary while drawing on what our younger generation considers only stuff the old timers talked about. I can honestly say it definitely brought thoughts of my own grandmother to mind. Mrs. Poiter-Henderson has extraordinary talent and especially enough talent to pull off a wonderful novel without having to overshadow it with syrupy Gone With the Wind type antebellum romance, sex and lots of foul language. Now that's what I call writing!
