Summary: I couldn't put this one down
Review: What would you do for the one that you love? How far would you go to ensure their safety? Would you risk your own life to save theirs? Would you build a 12-foot high wall topped with iron spikes to keep them safe? And what if the danger came from within yourself? Wells Earl Draughon explores these questions in his unforgettable book, "Always."

Ben first saw her when he was 10 years old. He scaled the security wall just to talk to her and together they climbed it to run free in the forest that surrounded them. Fate led him to her and he knew even then that she was something different, something very special. Eight years later he returns to find her still waiting, still in need of a hero. And he discovers that she is truly one of a kind. She knows nothing of the world and she holds no reservations when it comes to her body and soul. With him, she is free. With her, he is in grave danger.

The mansion in which Donella lives is a fortress, a prison. The rich old man who holds her there is a twisted individual whose mind is frayed; his actions lunatic. He is lost in an obsession and Donella is the key. When Ben helps her to escape the madness the old man seeks revenge and to reclaim his prize. Nothing will stand in his way.

Draughon has created a tortuous world of soulmate love, mortal danger, twisted mystery and sweet suspense. He has captured the exuberance of youth and the essence of intense and desperate love. The plot is full of twists and turns, like a torrid river carrying the reader to a waterfall crescendo. The characters are so full of life they will make you wonder who controlled the writing of the book - the author or them.

I couldn't put this one down and fully enjoyed the ride. If you have the desire to be fully immersed in fiction, "Always" is the book you seek.

Summary: A Compelling Read
Review: Once I started reading, I couldn't put the book down! I enjoy reading a book that holds my interest, with real characters, good description, and a compelling story line. Ben seemed like any little boy climbing trees and having fun in his own imaginary world. But everything changed when he saw Donella. Who was she, and why was she there? I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next, and to discover what was going to happen to the characters and how they related to each other. At the end, I wished there was another book that continued with the lives of the characters. I definitely want to read another book by this author.

Summary: restores your faith in love
Review: This is a love story that will make you believe in love again. Donnella is the woman we all want to be and that all men want to find. She's free. She's comfortable with herself. She accepts her body and she relishes the world around her. You can understand why Ben's love for her is for always. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good romance with an exciting accompanying story.

Summary: Always-A Murder Mystery
Review: This mystery-romance set in modern times will keep the reader guessing right up until the very end of the story. A walled, forbidden mansion hides gruesome secrets, while the wealthy owner holds an innocent young girl in his obsessive, lecherous grasp. Will the young man on the other side of the wall be able to help her before it is too late? I thought the story quite compelling, and the character of the girl reminded me of Lorna Doone, and also Rima in Green Mansions.

Summary: Always
Review: This story riveted my attention right from the start. A beautiful young woman kept captive in a mysterious mansion, a grave. . .what more could a mystery reader want? Wells has woven an intriguing story that keeps you reading until the very end. A great read.
