Summary: an epic autobiography
Review: This book is the story of the author, Peter Hargitai told through his eyes. As most people know when you tell a story it is normal to exagerate or lie a little. I say this because this is the case with this novel. In fact at times i had trouble discerning truth from lie. This i believes adds a level of mystique to the book that is not often matched. Manyh times i found myself thinking even arguing with myself over what was true and what wasn't. Once you get past this point though, the book really is good. It flows very smoothly and you really feel for the main character, Attila. The book covers his journey from Hungary to America, and his hardships growing up with a family that doesn't accept american culture. Throughout the book he deals with his family and his american girlfriend which he ends up marrying. At its very core this is a coming of age story in which the main character must also deal with adjusting to america but not doing it too much as to offend his parents. It is a very good and sometimes funny book that i would reccomend to anybody.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: The novel talked a lot about the life of the author. It talks about everything he went through as a child to all the things that happened to him as an adult. He tells us of his escape from his country and beginning a new life in America. He finds his true love here and does anything in order to be with her. The love that they had overcame any challenge that was put in front of them. If I were to rate this book from a scale of 1-5, I would have to give it a 4, it had a lot of interesting insight on what the author had to face in order to find and keep his one true love. The author did not leave out any details, he was very specific in describing certain situations that he encountered while growing up, that caught my attention and I am sure that it will catch the attention of others to.

Summary: A Barbarian's Love Story
Review: This is a unique love story, about a boy and what he goes through while growing up. It tells you how the boy meets the love of his life. The most interesting parts of this novel is when you are being told how hard it was to have been living in Hungary at this time and all the misshifts that were occuring. This novel is very realistic and reminds us of how difficult times were before and the many struggles that people had to go through. It is a book I would recommend to anyone interested in a love story taking place during an interesting time period.

Summary: Great Book
Review: It's true that when your in love with someone really special. It's very hard to let go of that special person like in the case of Attila of not letting go his first love. Either though he had the relationship not going his favor meaning the girl's parents but he just kept on insisting and waiting for his girl. When you wait for something no matter how long but when you finally get the chance of being with her then you will never ever regret of waiting like in Mr. Hargitai case. He waited and then he got what he wanted because of true love towards his partner and nobody could have separated them from each other.

Summary: The struggle to love
Review: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story. Was a book I enjoyed a lot. The book started with Attila running away with his family to America whee he would be living a better life. Obstacles got in the way like loosing his first love and accepting the neglection of his parents as growing up. He fell inlove with an american girl and had to risk loosing many things lke friends and family due to them not accepting te fact that she was not Hungarian. That was my favorite part to see in the book how he grew up from a little boy to a man and all the things he went through and how her love affected him so much. You could really tell how much he loved her. The story I think went from a little boys struggle to survive and be accepted in America to a man struggling to keep the woman he loved.

Summary: Real Life Story: A Must Have
Review: To put it short, "Attila" by Peter Hargitai was freaking amazing! Full of life, love and real language, Hargitai captures the essence of an American love story with a barbarians twist. Not afraid to let the world read an honest, yet raw life story, the author lets it all out. From his struggles leaving his native homeland of Hungary, to adapting to the United States throughout college, Attila learned to go out and get life the right way...his way. The book is a revolving door of emotions ranging from lust and love for his eventual wife, to respect and hatred for his parents. Hargitai writes on paper the thoughts that we all have inside that we are all afraid to let out. He shows a crude and sexual side and does not believe in censors. The realness in his family's personalities, attitudes, and approaches towards life were the realism that most book writers lack. It was a realness that the average reader could relate to, yet would still keep the avid reader interested. This was just one of the few traits that Hargitai possesses that absolutely amazed me. Although this was one of his first pieces, it did not show at all except for a slow start which was quickly forgotten a couple chapters into the book. He is true to himself and his writing style throughout the entire book. His style is one that puts him on a pedestal above the rest of the "everyday norm" authors worldwide. Bottom line: tired of reading the same old garbage over and over? Buy Attila by Peter Hargitai.

Summary: Amazing Story!
Review: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story is a wonderfully written autobiography by Peter Hargitai. It is the story of a young boy who stands up for what he believes in, even if it means standing against his own family. Many people think that the beginning of this book was not the best but if we really think about it, trying to escape from Hungary as a young boy must have been a really scary experience for Attila. The suffering and pain that Attila goes through in this book is more than some people can handle, but he has great determination and comes out strong. This is a very touching story and makes readers realize that as much as we may think our lives are horrible, there is always someone out there who is going through something much worse. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for wonderful and inspirational book.

Summary: Attila Review
Review: This book is about a young Hungarian boy who becomes a man through different experiences. His main love in the book is an American women whom he meets while in high school. She is forbidden to date him because he is not the typical American boyfriend her fathers had always envisioned her dating or even marrying. He learns to play soccer and thinks he has a heart condition but no doctor can confirm it. It is a good book overall just the beginning takes a long time to pick up.

Summary: My review
Review: Peter Hargitai's "Atilla: A Barbarian's Love Story" is a great story about compassion and companionship. Hargitai's story is one of overcoming obstacles; for example when he is forced to deal with the death of his first love. He feels as if her death were his fault because he did not react in time to save her. I feel as if the circumstances occurring in Hungry during that time mimic the obstacles that Hargitai is going through in his life. At a very early age Hrgitai feels rejected by his family, and moves in with his aunt. Later on in life he falls in love and moves to the United States, a very offensive move considered by his parents. On top of defying his own parents he must deal with the torture her parents put him through because they do not accept him
This is a story about growing up, love, and acceptance. An amazing book dealing with life and how we should all just be ourselves.
