Summary: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story
Review: I have to say that this book captured my attention. This story many people can relate to...Its about a boy who lives through many struggles, not only having to get accustomed to moving to the United States from Hungary, but trying to please his parents and their Hungarian customs and yet still live a normal american life. Its about growing up, being in love, overcoming obstacles, and making your own choices to be happy. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a touching and inspirational story.

Summary: Mindblowing and Inspirational
Review: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story, is a compelling and mind-blowing story with many different types of irony. This novel has touched me in a certain way that not many other books have, only because I had a weird common past with the relationship with my family. While I read this book, I constantly thought about my family at the times that Attila kept mentioning about his family. It reminded me of how my father would always have more love for his brother who is in another country than he would for his own family in his own home. How he would send most of his income to his brother while we would be on the verge of having our utilities cut off due to non payment or of being evicted from our home. The similarities between Attila's mother and my father were that she, somewhat the same as he, would always think that I, his own son, would never amount to become anything worthwhile in life. This novel had many interesting parts that include figurative language. One such example was the irony when Attila got caught making love with millie by her own mother and Attila's brother Janos, saves his life by covering for him. An aspect that was excellent in this book was the way in which each character was introduced to the story only when his or her part became influential to the plot, and the unusual way that the structure of the book is written such as the different time periods. For the most part, Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story is a great book for the type of reader who likes passion, obsession, history, or a keen sense for the grotesque. Many strengths and weaknesses come out in this book and some grammar errors as well. The grammar errors were slight and minimal since only a couple of paragraph here and there had one or two words missing or spelled incorrectly. Most of its weaknesses came from the way the author makes an attempt to captivate the reader. Such weaknesses are when he impacted the reader at the beginning of the book, mostly with violence or melancholy from the characters in the novel, and then instantly went back in time and made the story dull and difficult to fully comprehend. Its unusual rhetorical structure would at times pull the reader in, but after a while the tone shifts made the reader become bored and restless. Throughout most of the book, there are numerous levels of captivation varied since some of the chapters were interesting and then it shifted to a more uninteresting tone; such as a rollercoaster that goes up and down at times.

Summary: Wonderfully Written
Review: This book is a great book featuring all the twists and heartaches of a conventional love story, in addition to presenting a new way of seeing things. Hargitai delves into the long debated role of nature vs. nurture. Is a person genetically predetermined to act out a certain way? Or can he/she change his/her own life course and forge his/her own destiny.

Summary: Touching
Review: As a person who likes romantic novels, I found "Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story" to be very touching. I felt for Attila in his difficult journey of being away from his mother and leaving Hungary to live in America. The two main characters in this book, Attila and Millie, were so inspiring to me. They were so young and in love and they didnt let anything get in their way of being together. The style of writing got my attention; it made the book become so alive as if I was there side by side with Attila through his journey after Millie. I felt that this book was so romantic in the sense that Attila kept pursuing Millie and eventually won the battle and got the love of his life.

Summary: Attila
Review: This book is absolutely great because it deals with various taboos that will interest most any fan of modern writing. The book takes you on one man's journey through life. Starting out with a great escape from violent Hungary. With dark humor and brilliant metaphors a story that begins with incest and death eroticism evolves into an American love story dealing with an adolescents inner struggles with love vs. family. The in your face honesty of the author makes you connect with his younger self in the book. It is a brave tale to write and superior one to read.

Summary: Review of Attila
Review: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story is a book that I will never forget. This book is one of few books that kept me interested past the first chapter. There were times that I got goose bumps reading it and others in which I felt glued to the book just waiting to see what happened next. The main character Attila is someone I can relate to; not because of what he does or happens to him in the book, but because he is straightforward and doesn't "beat around the bush." I recommend this to anyone who is in the mood for a real life drama on paper.

Summary: Read it!!! It's Amazing
Review: Attila: A Barbarian's Love Story

Attila is a book that consists of a story, which touches and reflects on all aspects the author's life, Peter Hargitai. All chapters describe different periods of his life. They describe emotions, feelings, thoughts, manners, and situations. The story begins when Attila is moving from Hungary to the United States. It describes different obstacle he had to face; even though, he was so young. Then, it describes how he had to adapt to a different culture. The entire barrier he had to overtake. When I read this book it reminded me the entire obstacle I had to overtake when I immigrated, as Attila did, to the United States. In addition, Attila shares his romantic affairs with the reader. He mentions the entire struggles he had to pass like all adolescents do when falling in love.
Also, by reading this book, I learned how life changes and how it is so beautiful to have written life's moments. Sometimes you don't remember acts clearly, but if you have them written you can go back and read them, and you will remember acts that you did not think you did in the past. I definitely recommend Attila a barbarian's love story.

Summary: Captivating
Review: I found this book very exhilirating and captivating. There were a few points in the story that confused me but aside from that, the book was great. Peter Hargitai uses very descriptive words and language. This book has a slow start but as you read on, it becomes more exciting and interesting.

Peter writes about his life and his personal experiences. I feel that writing about his personal life was a great choice because in my opinion, he has lived a very interesting life. This book is partly fiction and this gives Peter Hargitai the element of surprise. This book entertains you and it also educates those who don't know much about Communism and the Stalin era. It gives the reader a great insight of what it was like back then in those days. I give this book my approval.

Summary: A Hun With Feelings
Review: Attila, is a novel that not only Peter Hargitai could relate to but also an average audience. This barbarian love story travels through the recollections of a young boy's memories, escaping a revolution. As the novel progresses Attila becomes a normal person with everyday problems. The struggles with pre marital sex and trying to be faithful to God are of torment to him. Conflicts with his parents and his inner self are just a tiny snip of what young people go through. While reading this book the reader gets lost into Attila's head with the numerous amounts of flashbacks. Furthermore, the flashbacks within the novel create comfort between the reader and Attila.
