Review: "A Man's State of Mind" is a heart renching eye opener for the man that thinks he is a "player" I thinnk this book was well written. Chris really knows how to bring out the realness of his characters. This book will make you laugh and then out of nowhere it will make you cry. The thing I enjoyed the most was that Chris didn't sterotype the African American women to be the loud, rude women with bad attitudes that people assume they are. Even though this book is fiction it is still the truth as to how it really is in the world, as fr as the way the chacters think and feel. When I started reading this book I couldn't put it down I recomended this book to all my friends male and female. I also recomend this book to you. I look forward to more books by Christoper D. Burnes

Review: A man's State of Mind is a great book. It is easy to read, flows well and holds the readers interest. I found myself heavily emerged in the characters and their relationships with one another. I have recommended this book to friends and family. This is a must read.Ms. Wells

Summary: I couldn't put it down
Review: And I didn't until it was finished. I read it in one setting as it held me totally captive. Darryl was the man I knew. He was my bestfriend's man. He is the man next door that you see creeping in at all hours. He's real and he makes you feel something for him. The women he went through they were real. It was so strong a peice I was aching in my heart when I finished. I wanted to call everyone I knew and beg them to GET REAL with their relationships. I will read Mr. Burns next book... no question. Strong message brought out with ease.

The author delivers a powerful message through the voices of Darryl, Tasha, Michelle, and Sherry and the use of humor, real life situations, and intelligent dialogue. This is a must read.

Summary: A must read, especially if you're single!!!
Review: I began reading "A Man's State of Mind" thinking that it was just another relationship book, but this one definitely sticks out. Darryl begins his story trying out a monogamous relationship for the first time with a woman who adores him. However, temptation leads him astray (more than once). When he finally figures out how to love one woman he is faced with the consequences of his actions. Now he is the one hoping to be loved.

Review: I read the book back in June it was a very good read. I read it in two days. James,Ty & Darryl was real good friends and all three had different life styles. James was married Ty was gay and Darryl was a player. You must read this book too see what they all went through . It show you what true friends can do for one another. Hurt-Pain-Laughter
