Rating: Summary: Another hit for Monique fans! Review: Lots to chew on here. Are Kaj and Dana going to get together? Christians will recognize the scriptures interlaced in the storyline. And perhaps identify with many of the challenges and choices Dana and Kaj face."Ties" is a page-turning mystery to reveal their past demons and (chilling) suprises in their futures. Read this book and share it with someone.
Rating: Summary: Award-winning author of The Grass Ain't Greener Review: Monique Gilmore-Scott brings to this rich piece the same clever unfolding, witty characters, and dangling, page-turning, thrills that have defined her previous, greatly acclaimed works of fiction.Kaj Richards and Dana Alexander are at virtually the same place--struggling through day-to-day life with the demons of the past and long held, crippling secrets threatening to overwhelm and destroy them. On top of it all, they haven't connected with their soul mates either. How they put their demons to rest, make peace with the shadows of their childhood and eventually get their lives on track makes for a riveting and affecting narrative. (Allison Philips, Editor)
Rating: Summary: Monique Gilmore-Scott is a master storyteller! Review: Monique Gilmore-Scott has successfully crossed over into mainstream fiction with "Ties that Bind, Way down Deep." I found myself feeling a myriad of emotions while reading this book. The storyline was completely unpredictable, and the ending scenes took my breath away. Janice L. Dennie, author of "Moon Goddess the Queen of Sheba"
Rating: Summary: A must-read. Review: Ms. Gilmore-Scott takes readers on a hold-on-to-your-seat ride in her wonderful book "Ties That Bind." This novel shows us that even when we think we've moved on with our lives--and loves--there are always ties that bind. Good job, Ms. Gilmore-Scott!
Rating: Summary: A 'real' story Review: Not often do you read a story where the characters make you stop and think of oneself. Monique has a great storytelling voice. I could feel Kaj and Dana's pain. Was disappointed with the ending, but in hindsight I realized, that's life and not every story has a happy ending. Can't wait to read her next book!
Rating: Summary: Thrilling read Review: The author does a pretty good job at mixing drama and religion in this book. She did have me going with Kaj's grudge against Rodney. I wanted to tell him to let it go but Ms. Scott clued me in at the end. That is when I understood why he held on so tightly. This is one book I would definitely encourage others to read. It has enough elements to keep you reading.
Rating: Summary: An excellent story Review: The ties that bind us can be really deep. Things that we hold on to can affect us for a lifetime or for so long you just can't get beyond them to go on sucessfully with your own life. That's what happens with Kaj and Dana, too many skeltons, they are so bound they are having a difficult time moving on. I have read Ms Gilmore romance novels and enjoyed them all. She is now writing fiction and I see she is the same strong writer. Ties that bind was a job well done. I will definitely look for more from Ms Gilmore-Scott
