Rating: Summary: A Must Read! Review: I usually don't gravitate toward mystery novels...but this one reeled me in like a fish on a hook. The Author really knows how to write. His way of telling a story had me captivated from the beginning to end. Now, usually when I watch a mystery movie...I pride myself on putting the pieces together before the end of the movie...not true with this book.By now you are probably saying, "She has not given a synopsis of the book yet!" and that is intentional, because I don't want to spoil this great mystery storyline by revealing any pertinent details. ...I attended a book signing party in Austin, TX and had the pleasure of meeting Tony Lindsay. He told me that it took him two years to complete this book and that he got inspiration from Walter Mosely, Robert Green and other mystery books. He stated, "I wanted to write a mystery that was sexy, social and very black." Well he accomplished his goal and it is a MUST READ.

Rating: Summary: Great read! Review: Lindsay has captured the essence of the mystery genre with a hard-edged, fast-paced story in a Black, urban setting. What passes for romance is a little weird, but perhaps that's the way it is from the male point of view. The sex is sizzling hot, though. I've recommended it to all my reading friends--and bought it for several.
Rating: Summary: one good mystery Review: Mr.Lindsay has done an excellant job in providing good characters(no matter how shady they are)and a great building of suspense. I am looking forward to reading future novels with David Price as a P.I.
Rating: Summary: Whodunit...what a suspense Review: One Dead Preacher is a Chi-Town murder mystery with an interesting plot and enough suspense and twists to keep you guessing whodunit. David Price is as old fashioned as he is lucky at shooting craps. He drives Fleetwood Broughams and he loves to showboat in front of the women. He owns a security company and loves to work on his Cadillac. He is interrupted during a crap game by a tap on his shoulder. The tap gets disregarded because he knows whoever it is will feel his wrath later. After David finishes his game, he turns to find the beautiful breath taking Sugar Greer. She's in trouble and David comes highly recommended by his 30 yr. friend Richard Brown. Sugar, not only brings with her a plea for protection from her husband who is none other than Brother Yazz, founder of The New Day, an organization of Muslim and Christian faith. She also has a shady past that will totally blow you away. David tries everything in his power to do what he was hired to do protect Sugar, but her beauty and brains continue to enthrall him. When Brother Yazz turns up dead, the blood is conveniently placed on David's hands. Upon waking from Sugar's spell he feels set-up. Questions are running rampant through his mind: Could his friend of 30 yrs set him up? What is it about this woman that haunts him? One Dead Preacher has everything it needs to capture an avid reader such as myself. The characters are entertaining and the dialogue is wonderfully written. I truly enjoyed this book and recommend that everyone reads it. Missy APOOO Bookclub.

Rating: Summary: Action packed Review: One Dead Preacher is an excellent debut by Tony Lindsay. I enjoyed this fast paced, suspense/mystery novel. Once I started reading, I was engrossed in the lives of David, Rickey and Sugar. Each page was filled with twists and turns which made the novel a great page turner. I wasn't able to figure out who killed the Preacher until the end of the story. This one is highly recommended. Good Luck Tony. Be Blessed!

Rating: Summary: GOOD JOB MR. LINDSAY! Review: One Dead Preacher...An exciting, mystery written my new author Tony Lindsay. I liked the flawed,older,street-wise,and smooth P.I. David Price. He does not have a squeaky clean past (or present)which is a plus, because it keeps him human. The story was fast paced and thrilling. I hope to read more books involving David Price and about his assistant(new partner)Carol.
Rating: Summary: CHICAGO FAN (You Go Girl) Review: Our book club is reading "One Dead Preacher" for our fall selection and the author will be at our meeting. I am very pleased to say that Mr. Lindsay is a Chicago native. Now to this book. This was one of the best mystries I have read. Lindsay is being compared to Walter Mosley. However, I enjoyed Mr. Lindsay's book more because it was not bogged down with too many forgettable and unimportant characters and the plot held my interest. Some of those, I'll call them "personel seens", were quite steamy and I don't quite know how some of our members will react to them. It should be a very lively and interesting meeting. I hope Mr. Lindsay continues the excellent work. "You Go Boy".
